Last year I had a difficult time at school trying to learn math. I couldn't understand anything and for three bimesters my grades weren't very good. When the 4th bimester started, I made some calculations about my grades and I needed to get a 9.75 on the last exam or I would be done. I asked my teacher if it would be possible to get that and then she looked at me and replied, "You, getting 9.75 on my math exam? Only when pigs fly haha". I got so mad and I started with the eye of the tiger mode and I spent two weeks studying with no pause. After the exam, I got the results and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that. But I am very sure that since that day, my teacher has been seeing many pigs flying and no doubt she's not doing that to anyone else.

Earlier this year, I went on vacation with my wife to Mendoza, Argentina. It was a fantastic trip filled with winery tours, wine tastings, and memorable dinners. Before returning to Brazil, we bought souvenirs and wine to relive the experience later.

My friend Isaac has been having a crush on Camila for, like, forever. Camila is very popular. She’s top of her class, pretty, and every guy in school is practically in love with her. And Isaac is convinced that he’s way out of her league.

One day, we’re sitting by the patio after class, and he suddenly says, dramatically, “I’ll date Camila when pigs fly, I mean, look at how beautiful she is.” Even though he’s actually funny and smart, he’s sure that he’ll never have a chance with her. I told him he should just talk to her, like, what’s the worst that could happen? But he laughed, convinced it would be a disaster.

After a few days, we were in the school canteen, and Camila walked right by our table. I looked at Isaac and said, “Go talk to her.” I didn’t expect him to actually do it, but to my surprise, he stood up and walked over to her, and he was actually talking to her, smiling and everything.

They chatted for a few minutes, and when he came back, I was ready to tease him, but he just sat down and smiled. “We’re studying for math together next week,” he said.
