The film version departed a little because in the film version they added dialogue and changed some scenery.
2) I preferred the film version because it adds to the creepy vibe that the text version gives off. 2. The film is also different by Mrs. White blaming the death of Herbert on Mr.White instead of not blaming anyone in the story one.
I prefer the film because it adds more suspense by being able to hear the sound effects and there voices and how they talked to each other.

1.) In the book, Mr.White wishes for 200 pounds, but in the film he wishes for 300 pounds. In addition, the movie starts out in India where Morris is receiving the paw, while in the story it simply starts out where Mr.White is playing chess with Herbert. 
2.) I prefer the film over the book because the movie allowed you to experience the sounds and images which gave off an eerie and unsettling vibe.

1. In the story, the first small difference is the amount of pounds that the family gives. In the story they earned 200 pounds, but in the movie it was 300.
2. In the movie when the wife is begging for Mr. White to get the monkeys paw she states, "You killed my son", and then orders him to wish him alive. In the story however, she just orders him to wish Herbert alive again.
I prefer the movie version because it allows you to see the emotions of the characters and experience the mysterious vibe that it has.
