1) The film version stayed mostly faithful to the text version, although, they added some things. The film version departed a little because in the film version they added dialogue and changed some scenery.
2) I preferred the film version because it adds to the creepy vibe that the text version gives off. I also prefer the film version because, I can now have a face to match the characters.

An example of a difference was in the book, it was 200 pounds, but in the movie, it was 300 pounds. Also, the movie makes the story seem a little bit more scary.
2) I prefer the book over the movie, because i can make my own illustrations to the story.

The story and the book are very similar but there are some things that are different.
1. The film one was different because Mr. White wished for 300 pounds instead of 200 pounds in the story.
2. The film is also different by Mrs. White blaming the death of Herbert on Mr.White instead of not blaming anyone in the story one.
I prefer the film because it adds more suspense by being able to hear the sound effects and there voices and how they talked to each other.

The film and the story were both similar in ways, but they were also different. one way the story is different from the film because in the story it stated that Herbert stared into the fire and saw faces, but in the film it was Mr.white who saw faces. ways the film and the story were similar to is when Mr.white wished for 200 pounds and received it, but Herbert was killed at the sawmill because of the wish.

I preferred the film version because it felt more suspenseful and I enjoyed the dialogue.

The book and the movie were quiet similar but there were a few differences.
1. In the story, the first small difference is the amount of pounds that the family gives. In the story they earned 200 pounds, but in the movie it was 300.
2. In the movie when the wife is begging for Mr. White to get the monkeys paw she states, "You killed my son", and then orders him to wish him alive. In the story however, she just orders him to wish Herbert alive again.
I prefer the movie version because it allows you to see the emotions of the characters and experience the mysterious vibe that it has. Also, the music adds more suspense so it was more enjoyable than reading the book.

Also being able to see the characters actions and reactions made the story even better.
