Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

This book tells the story of Jane Eyre, who is an orphan. Starting when she was nine years old, she goes to an all girls school where the children are all abused and starved. She becomes close friends with a girl who dies. When Jane grows up, she accepts the job of a governess to a little girl in the care of Mr. Rochester, who is a rich, gloomy man. There are strange occurrences happening at Thornfield Hall, possibly a ghost. Jane and Mr. Rochester fall in love, but when they try to get married, Jane discovers he is already wed to a woman who is crazy and was the source of the happenings in the house. Jane leaves without marrying Mr. Rochester and becomes an independently wealthy woman. Meanwhile, Mr. Rochester gets injured when his lunatic wife sends Thornfield Hall up in flames. This causes Jane to come back to Mr. Rochester, and they finally get married.

The book is a mystery and a ghost story and a coming of age story and a romance all in one, and it makes you cry and smile. Jane is very relatable because she does things that people actually do, like when she compares herself to a woman who is pursuing Mr. Rochester. The plot is very suspenseful and gripping. I also love the relationship between Mr. Rochester and Jane, who are so much alike. I would rate this book a 5/5 and recommend reading it because it is so amazing.

This Book is Kinda bland but You'll get used to it,i don't recommend this to anyone

This book tells the story of a backup Quarterback named Bobby who is tossed into the starting range when the star Quarterback gets hurt Rockey at the start but then he gets better on and off the field because since he is the starting Quarterback he becomes more popular especially because Football is huge in Texas so he becomes big with the ladies at his school but there is only one girl he likes and she likes him back but then her friend caught him sleeping with another girl after he won a big game and so she confronted him and at the time they were not even dating and he only slept with the girl he got caught with so he would have experienced before sleeping with the girl he liked then she got mad and he went to a party on the night while they were undefeated he went with some teammates and he sees one of his linemen abusing a girl drives he drives her home and then he went and told his coach what happened and the coach suspends the player and then the team gets mad at bobby and perced to let him take sacks and the coach decides to put the freshman Qaurterback in and have bobby not playing for the rest of the year because the coach felt like bobby betrade the team by telling him what happened at that party that night 

I recommend this book because it was one of my favorite books of all time and just a great read 5/5 if you love football you will love this book there's football romance it has everything you need for a great book.

When We Collided by Emory Lord

In When We Collided by Emory Lord, we are introduced to two characters named Vivi and Jonah. The novel is told from the two perspectives and hones in on the complicated lives of the two.

After a traumatic event back home, Vivi and her mother move to Verona Cove for the summer. There she meets Jonah, and all other 6 members of his family.

Jonah struggles with the aftermath of the death of his father. His mother has become depressed and cannot care for his five siblings, so Jonah has to assume this role. It leaves him stressed and gives him less time to himself.

Vivi suffers from bipolar disorder and uses different media of art to help her cope. Vivi and Jonah both try to hide their secrets from one another, but once they find out they each spend time helping the other person. Their worlds change and together they go on adventures throughout the summer.

As summer comes to a close, Vivi reflects on the past months and decides that she has unfinished business back home. However, she will forever be changed by Jonah, his family, and Verona Cove.

I recommend this book for the love story, but it also battles a lot of tough mental health issues such as bipolar disorder and the grief following a loved one's death. It deals with a lot of complex themes and was such a perfect heart wrenching read.

This book is about a girl named Mallory. When she was younger her dad died in a car crash and ever since her family has struggled with money. After graduation, Mallory loses her job. Mallory takes a chess job and returns to chess after 5 years of not playing, bringing up old memories and feelings from the past. During a chess match, Mallory beats the #1 chess player in the world, Nolan.

As Nolan and Mallory grow closer, Mallory improves her chess game and overcomes her fears.

This book is really good even if you don't understand chess and is a really cute romance. It starts kinda slow but gets good. :)

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

There are two sisters who live a sheltered life on an island with their abusive father who owns most of it. They both long for adventure but one of them is getting married soon and thinks that she is going to have a more exciting life outside of the island with this mystery count she’s never met. Their grandma used to tell them stories of a performer and his show Caraval, which fueled the sisters’ desire to get off the island because of how wonderful and magical she said it was, and one of them would write this performer letters every year. Only her last letter - a last attempt to be a part of Caraval before she gets married off - gets answered. So her (unwillingly), her sister and a mysterious sailor dude go to the island with Caraval. Once she gets there (Caraval is kind of like an alternate dimension town where everyone but the guests are actors - it’s hard to explain), she finds that her sister was captured. The rest of the story revolves around her trying to find her sister, a LOT of mysterious guys, and people who want years off your life as money, and a wish granted to whoever wins Caraval and finds her sister.

I would recommend this book to people who like romance and fantasy. It is exciting, it has a twisty plot, but it’s also missing a lot of explanation of the world building and stuff which is why I would rate it a 3.5/5.

A Time to Kill by John Grisham

This book follows Jake Brigance, a well respected defense lawyer in the town of Clanton Mississippi. Jake suddenly finds himself in the spotlight when he takes the most famous case in the state. Jake decides to defend Carl Lee Hailey who was arrested for murdering two men who had raped, hit, and tried to kill his daughter. Although he pleads insanity, Jake knows that the real way to win this case is to get the jury to sympathize with Carl lee, but with an all white jury in Mississippi it might not be possible.

For me this book is a 5/5. I love that I am able to learn about law, cry, laugh, and think all at the same time. I have not loved a book this much in a very long time. If you want a legal thriller I would always recommend this book.

The Martian by Andy Weir

In The Martian, it tells a story about how our protagonist, Mark Watney, got stranded on mars after his crew left him because they believed he was dead. It follows his journey of how he survived, how he gained and lost communication with earth, and how he traveled across mars and survived through a giant sandstorm.

This book is easily a 5/5. Everything in this book is done perfectly, and appeals to a wide range of people. Andy Weir does an amazing job at explaining very complex situations and aspects of space travel, and you never feel lost when reading this book. The pacing is also amazing, there is a lot that happens, but you have time to think about it, and it never feels rushed. Andy Weir's sense of humor, or Mark Watney's, because the story is all of his notes from his journal, is amazing. He always seems to have a great sense of humor even in his very bleak situation. This story could have easily been very intense, but Andy Weir made the correct decision of not doing that, and instead making it funny and interesting, while still being intense in some situations. Overall this book is really well made, easy to read, intriguing, and a great choice for anyone who even remotely likes novels, realistic science fiction, or books with a comedic aspect. I would, and will recommend this to others.

Nimona by ND Stevenson

In Nimona, we follow our main character Ballister Blackheart, an ex-knight turned villain who wants to get back at the Institute for kicking him out. He was kicked out because he lost an arm in a joust with Ambrosius Goldenloin, the Institutes hero. He is joined by our title character and protagonist, Nimona, a shapeshifter usually in the form of a human girl. Nimona insists on being Blackhearts sidekick, and while Blackheart opts for a non-violent approach of taking down the Institute, Nimona has different plans, and on their various escapades with Blackheart, often kills people. One day, Nimona infiltrates the Institute and steals some files. Blackheart and Nimona look over the files, and discover that the Institute has been hoarding Jaderoot, a poisonous plant used for evil purposes. The majority of the rest of the book consists of Blackheart and Nimona using this information to take down the institute, and deeper explores Blackheart and Goldenloins past, hinting that their relationship was more than platonic.

I won't spoil the ending, but the story of Nimona is so touching, and it has made me cry on multiple occasions. The book is well paced, and the characters are incredibly well written and make you feel emotion about them, whether it be good or bad.

1000/10 (yes I know the rating is out of 5 it's just that good)

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien begins with Bilbo Baggins, a Hobbit from the Shire, being recruited by Gandalf the Wizard to go on an adventure with Dwarves to recapture the lonely mountain, the former home of the Dwarves, from Smaug the dragon.

They encounter many problems along the way, such as goblins and spiders, but they are able to make it to the mountain. After Bilbo and the Dwarves provoke the Dragon into attacking a nearby town, the dragon is killed after getting shot by Bard the Bowman, a resident of the town.

This book is a Fantasy classic, and almost 100% more childish than its followers, The Lord of the Rings. I rate it 5/5, because Tolkien is one of the best writers to have ever written a book. His use of descriptive language is amazing (although long and boring at times), and his plot has inspired thousands of other writers to write their own worse rip-offs of the world that he created. I recommend it to everyone.

Maze Runner

The story begins in a dark elevator with a boy inside who doesn't remember anything from his past life.

he finds himself in the center of a maze with lots of other kids who have no memory of their lives either.

the protagonist remembers his name is Thomas soon after arriving in the maze but no other details come to mind. Thomas has trouble adjusting to the strange place and people but does his best to adapt. He becomes someone who goes out to map the maze (a runner) but soon finds out how dangerous the maze really is.

I didn't really like the book and the themes were very repetitive so i stopped reading it a few chapters before the ending. i wouldn't recommend it to anyone but the beginning is okay.

Templar by Jordan Mechner & Leuyan Pham

This book is about the medieval times Templar Knights. After the king frames the Templars for heresy and are trialed for execution, the protagonist Martin is a surviving Templar that along his journey finds other brotheren hiding from the king. With Martins new crew he sets his eyes on reclaiming the Templars Knights lost treasure, but it's not going to be easy.

This graphic novels adventure and historical fiction is brought to life from its amazing story telling and beautiful imagery. This book is 5/5 just because it is a funread. I've stayed engaged the whole time while reading Templar and can say it is a fun read.

Reflection is a book about the movie Mulan, but It has a twisted tale into the story. A war begins and Mulan's dad was told that he had to go to war. Mulan knew that her father could not go to war because he is not feeling good. So in honor of her father Mulan goes to war for her father's place, thought out the story she pretends to be a boy.

I give this book a 5/5 because it is amazing to read, and has a really good twist. If you love the movie mulan you will love to read this book to!

Act Cool by Tobly Mcsmith

The book centers around August Greene, a 16 year old who has just run away from his home to live with his aunt in New York, as his homelife was unsafe. He aspires to one day be a broadway actor, and to not let being trans stop him from that. He quickly gets to making new friends and working hard in his new school, a highly revered acting school. He finds comfort in being able to be himself, and has a much more supportive guardian. But throughout the book he goes through much inner turmoil, and discovers much more about himself, and constantly feels scared his parents will try to force him back home and into conversion therapy.

This book is great, it's a really good highschool drama, but also covers heavier topics and gives insight into what it can be like (both the good and the bad) to be trans. And the main character goes through a lot of development and has flaws which I think is great. I definitely recommend this book if it sounds up your alley, definitely a 5/5.

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a very eye opening book. It is set in the 1930s in Maycomb, Alabama. The main character, Scout is also the narrator of the story. Some other characters we encounter through the book are, Scout's brother, Jem, and their father, Atticus Finch. In this time of their lives, Scout and Jem have to navigate though injustice and racial tensions in their community. Atticus Finch, who is a lawyer, is currently defending an innocent black man who was accused of rape. It was a very hard time for the family, but also for Tom Robinson and his family while they have to go through these false accusations. Robinson was put on trial for the rape of Mayella Ewell. On the side of that, there was another problem. Who was Boo Radley? Boo was a very shy man, independent, and quiet. Scout and Jem are very curious about Boo and want to know everything about him.

I rate this book a 5 out of 5 for so many reasons. Some main reasons was because of how the story was written, and how Lee organizes the book. I also love all the characters. I 100 percent recommend this book as it is a very powerful story that covers racism, empathy, and standing up for what's right. I would definetly read this again, and also the movie again!!

This book is a memoir graphic novel based on civil rights activist John Lewis. The book depicts Lewis's life. It starts with his childhood and discusses his role in the Civil Rights Movement. It heavily dives into his political career and talks about his struggles with trying to help but not being wanted.

The civil rights movement ended with the signing of the Voting Rights Act in 1965. John continued to speak up after becoming the chairman of the SNCC. He co-leads the march from Selma. His life shows that victories aren't the end but a new beginning.

I give this book a 5/5 because it was easy to read, the artwork was amazing, and it depicted important historical events. I was so intrigued that I read this book in one day.

This book is about a young girl named Raina who had always wanted a sister when she was younger and ended up getting one. The whole book is going back and forth showing the road trip there currently taking to family, while showing memories of them from when they were younger. During the book it shows every different stage of their relationship as sisters and the memories they've made, while showing how they get closer on the road trip.

I give this book a 5/5 because it's very heart felt while also being very entertaining and super funny. It's also a true story which makes it even more interesting.

This book is about a "bot" (also called a SecUnit) which in this world means an artificial brain/body in power armor. This bot is on a mission to an uninhabited planet with its crew. It has hacked its governor module, which means it can do what it wants, but it doesn't kill its crew because it is a good... person? anyway, it goes and kills some people who were trying to invade and then goes off and becomes emancipated so it's free now. Good book, whole series but go read it.

Twilight By Stephenie Meyer

This book is about a teenage girl name Bella Swan she has lived in Pheonix for most of her life. She is now moving to Forks Washington with her dad because her mom and stepdad are on a trip around the world for baseball. When Bella arrives in Forks, she is not happy due to the lack of sun. She quickly makes a good group of friends and has lunch with them. She notices across the cafeteria that there are a lot of hot people sitting at one table in a corner. She asks who they are, and they are introduced as the Collens. The rest of the books is about Bella trying to figure what out what the Collins are especially Edward who she sees every ware and is madly in love with.

I gave this book a 4.5/5 because its a good book about vampires and love. Its a little weird and very cringe. But I recommended it if you like vampire books that aren't scary or romance books.

Black Klansman, by Ron Stallworth

This memoir follows a police officer, Ron Stallworth of Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1978, 6 years after he had moved to Colorado Springs, he found an ad for a budding chapter of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). As a black cop, he had felt he struck gold. Without a second thought, he dialed the number on the advertisement and submitted his informal application to his local chapter of the KKK.

As the story goes on, Stallworth infiltrates this chapter of the KKK, with help of his white colleague, Flip Zimmerman, an undercover detective who played as Stallworth when face to face with clan members. Essentially, Stallworth was the voice (on the phone), and Zimmerman was the face. Towards the end of the book, Zimmerman gained intel that the KKK were planning on bombing a progressive civil rights movement, that would leave dozens killed and more injured. Thanks to their wits and cunning, the Colorado Springs Police Department was able to sabotage the KKK's initial plans of terrorism, and effectively dismantle the Colorado Springs chapter of the KKK for some time.

This memoir is gripping and exciting, however the first few chapters are very slow to develop and struggle to keep the reader's attention. I would rate this book 4/5, and recommend reading it because of the educational value, as well as the satisfaction it brings knowing two cops tore down a racist, terrorist organization by nothing more than outsmarting them.

This book is about a young boy named Stanley Yelnats, a boy who had been sent to camp green lake which is a juvenile center for a crime he didnt commit. The juvenile center is in the middle of the desert which inmates are made to dig 5 foot wide and 5 foot deep holes every single day. As he and his fellow inmates start digging they happen to find about Stanleys dark family history which they find a long lost treasure.

Spider-Man by Roger Stern

Spider-man has been written by a lot of prolific comic book writers over the 80 years he has been around but one of my favorites is Roger Stern. Stern wrote around 50 issues of Spider-man comics covering almost 5 years of Spider-man comics. His stories brought back less beloved characters and introduced many new ones. The Boy Who Collects Comics is one of his best. It's a short tale of Spider-man visiting a boy who loves him and them bonding. It's a very heartwarming and sad issue as the twist at the end changes your whole perception on the interaction between Spider-man and the boy. Stern also brought in The Hobgoblin, a new mysterious villain that causes many problems for Spider-man. Hobgoblins identity is hidden and builds a great mystery of who is behind the mask throughout the book. Overall if you have any interest in reading a classic Spider-man story or comic at all it might be worth a read.

The Associate by John Grisham

The associate follows protagonist, Kyle McAvoy through his journey as a lawyer. Kyle has a different journey than most however, Kyle has a past. Kyle's past follows him and eventually leads him to the biggest firm in the country. Most would kill for his job but Kyle is miserable. Unlike most, his job wasn't to work, it was to reveal secrets. If he doesn't comply, his own secret will be revealed.

Although the ending was disappointing I could appreciate Kyle's journey. I have come to appreciate the endings that Grisham crafts because they are all unique. With around fifty legal thrillers, he is able to craft a new story with a new ending. Some have to be disappointing or his books will be predictable.

The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Fellowship of the Ring (FOTR) by J.R.R. Tolkien is a fantasy classic. Although much harder to read than its predecessor The Hobbit, FOTR still is set in the same world, just 30 years later. The story starts out in the shire, the land of the hobbits. Frodo Baggins, a young hobbit, is living with his adopted uncle, Bilbo Baggins (the main character and protagonist of The Hobbit). Bilbo is getting old, and will soon reach his 111^th (or Eleventy-First as the Hobbits call it) birthday that September, on the same day that Frodo reaches his “coming-of-age,” which is 30 years old in Hobbit culture. After the party, Bilbo leaves the Shire for good, but leaves his hobbit hole and his magic ring to Frodo. Unbeknownst to him, others are looking for his new ring, of which Sauron, the main antagonist, is the most anxious to get his hands on it, because it will give him limitless power. It does belong to him, after all (it’s a long story that will take up way too much room to explain here). After learning the Ring’s location, Sauron sends the 9 Nazgul (Ringwraiths) after Frodo, who has just left on an expedition to destroy the ring in Sauron’s own backyard. Despite the presence of the Nazgul, Frodo is able to escape the shire.

The book goes on for a lot longer, and then there are two more books after that. I won’t spoil any more of it than I already have, but I absolutely recommend this book. I have read it countless times, and I’m always excited to read it again. I wanted to read it again now that I’m older, to see if it still is as good as it was back then. It still is! 5/5. The next book I will read, not surprisingly, is the next book in the series, The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien.

This book is about a world where there is a virtual reality universe called the OASIS that most people spend most of their time in. The creator died, and left a Quest behind for... basically ownership of the OASIS. This guy Wade ends up winning it and that's really the whole book the rest is filler. Anyway, great action (surprisingly) with a classical happy ending.

The Turn of The Screw by Henry James

The Turn of the Screw by Henry James is a story introduced at a gathering of friends who are telling ghost stories around the fire. A man says he has a story that was told to him by the woman at the center of the story. He reads out loud a manuscript that she wrote about her experiences as a governess at Bly Manor to two children: Miles and Flora. Miles had just returned from a boarding school after doing something that resulted in his expulsion. Flora is a sweet little, innocent-seeming girl. The governess starts to speculate that the children are being targeted by the ghosts of the former governess and the former valet. As the story evolves, the reader starts to wonder what is really going on, whether it’s a haunting, whether the governess is crazy, or whether the children are evil and tormenting her. 

This is truly one of the best horror novels, as the mystery is actually never resolved. Many people have their own opinions on it, but in a way that’s the whole point of the book. The scariest part isn’t the ghosts or the children; it’s the fact that she’s driving herself insane with questioning her own sanity. The writing style of the novel feels very convoluted, similar to the plot, which actually made it even more of a mystery and more engaging. For me, this is definitely a 5 out of 5. I would recommend it, but for most people, it would be a hard read because of the language. However, I would not discourage anyone from giving it a try.

The better sister is about the younger sister who is very smart and goes to college well her older sister gets married and has a son. They lose contact over the years. This book's main character is Chloe and her sister is Nicky. 15 years later Chloe is with her sister's husband when he dies at their beach house. She is forced to contact Nickey and help try to solve it together until the son is suspect number 1.

This book i gave a 5/5 because it is a really god mistory and horror book.

Stella by Starlight

Stella by Starlight is a novel that is set in the segregated South during the Great Depression. The main character, Stella Mills, an African American girl, and her community face injustice, racicim, along with the KKK. During the story, Stella discovers her voice through writing. She learnes the importance of standing up for herself and for what's right. This book also shows the power of family, friendship, and also the resilience in the face of hardship. As readers are reading about Stella's life, they gain insight into the struggles og African American families during this period of American history.

Stella by Starlight has a powerful reminder of the importance of courage and the unity in the fight for equality and justice. I rate this book 5/5 for so many reasons. My top couple are for one, I love how it is written, I also love how it is recongnizing the struggles African Americans had to go through and still have to go through today.

Artemis by Andy Weir

This book follows our female teenage protagonist who lives in a city on the moon, and how she deals with all the problems that come over her. At surface levels this is an action story where you are involved in the mind of Jazz, our protagonist, and you're always on the edge of your seat for what will come next. On a deeper level, this book handles complex themes like family trouble, capitalism and depression.

I know I already wrote about The Martian, also by Andy Weir, but I couldn't not also talk about this book. While I did enjoy the Martian slightly more to begin with, after I started getting into this book I liked it almost just as much as I did the Martian. The way that Andy Weir can perfectly pace everything, and having a sense of humor while also dealing with complex topics is very fun and engaging to read. I was fully engaged with this book by the end, and I would definitely recommend it to others especially if they read and enjoyed the Martian.

If Only I Had Told Her

If Only I had Told Her is a gutwrenching sequel to If He Had Been With me. Told from multiple perspectives, we learn about the events leading up to a tragic accident and the aftermath of it. The multiple perspectives gives many new dimensions to the book that we weren't able to see before.

Though the book is greatly about loss, it also deals with love, grief, mental health, teen pregnancy, friendship, family, and many other dense topics.

This book made me really sad, but it's such an amazing read that I would read a hundred times over, even if it meant crying each time.

When We Collided by Emery Lord

When We Collided, by Emory Lord, follows teenagers Jonah Daniels and Vivi Alexander through a difficult and emotional journey in California's "Verona Cove". Struggling with bipolar disorder, Vivi constantly battles hardships with expressing emotions in a way that is effective, while Jonah coping with the loss of (essentially) both of his parents, struggles with opening up at all. These two nearly polar opposite perspectives clash in a genuinely beautiful way throughout this novel, and it was as vibrant as if I were to watch it in movie form. This book covers extremely heavy topics that I wasn't anticipating, but it does so with such unapologetic, raw descriptions and emotions that make you feel like you are feeling what the protagonists are. Lord isn't afraid of painting the picture exactly how it is, using rather blunt language and dialogue to put the reader into the character's shoes, which also serves as a really effective way of humanizing the characters. I'm not usually a fan of love stories -- I feel wrong calling this a love story, because I feel like that's only such a small part of this book -- but this novel had a grip on me from page one to the acknowledgments, and that says something.

This book has got to be the one and only 10/10 I've read. Regardless of if you can relate to the characters directly or not, the story line tugs at your heart strings and evokes all of the empathy that resides within you, and I feel it's such a beautiful thing for a piece of writing to do. From the guts of the novel, to the last page, Lord kept my full attention and stole every tear from my eyes. I would be lying if I said this wasn't the greatest work I've ever read. I highly, highly recommend.

Five Survive by Holly Jackson

Five Survive is a murder mystery about a girl struggling with depression after her mother dies. She and her friends go on a road trip instead of flying to their senior class vacation and get stuck in the middle of nowhere with no way out. There are six people in the RV, and as the title suggests: only five survive. Throughout the book, the reader is left wondering who is going to die, giving the book a suspenseful and engaging hook.

I gave this book a 4/5 because at some points it was really slow and hard to read. It is a pretty long book and some areas were dull. Overall it's still a good mystery and horror book and would recommend it.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

This story follows the adventures of Arthur Dent, an ordinary human who is brought on a journey throughout the galaxy after Earth is destroyed. Arthur and his friend Ford Prefect embark on a series of absurd and funny adventures traveling around the galaxy on many ships. Arthur and Ford's journey leads to many fun encounters with aliens of all shapes and sizes.

In my opinion, this book is a hilarious science fiction book. It has a lot of imagination and wit that is very present on every page. This book is an enjoyable read and I would recommend it to everyone because it is fun and a classic.

  Far From The Tree by Robin Benway

Far From The Tree tells the touching story of three siblings who were separated at birth and raised in different families. Grace, the oldest, grapples with the decision to give up her baby for adoption while feeling a void in her life. Maya, the middle child, feels unheard from her current family after a challenging upbringing in foster care. Joaquin, the youngest, battles his past as he moves between foster homes. 

The story unfolds as Grace seeks out her birth mother, leading her to Maya and Joaquin. Even from the fact that they were separated at a really young age they set out on a journey to uncover the reason behind separation to explore their shared story. 

Far From The Tree is a touching story about discovering who you are, finding what you belong to, forgiving, and understanding what family truly means. 

I give this book a 5/5 because it was actually good to read and I really enjoyed it.

      this book is about a 16-year-old boy named Steve Harmon who is being put on trial for robbery and murder he wants to become a screenplay writer so the book is written like a screenplay in this book he has a lawyer named Kathy O'brian doesn't believe that he is innocent and neither does anyone else in his family but they stick to his side the entire time during the book steve decides to write what it's like being on trial in a journal while steve is on trial he has a tough prosecutor named Sandra Petrocelli who doesn't care if he is innocent or not she just wants to win. in the book, there is another person named James King who is also on trial for a murder he is a member of steves gang that Steve was a part of 

I rated this book a 5/5 because I think it is a great read I enjoyed reading it and feel like others would like the book too its a very good story and I feel like it is a book that you have to read

The Hunger Games Suzanne Collins

Suzanne Collins - The Hunger Games, the first novel in a dystopian trilogy, is set in a future North America, now known as Panem. The book presents a society divided into twelve districts, ruled by the Capitol. Each year, the Capitol enforces its control through the Hunger Games, a televised event where two "tributes" at the age of 12-18 from each district fight to the death until only one remains. In this book we follow Katniss Everdeen, a 16 year old girl from district 12, through her experience with the hunger games. We see how she influences the capital, alongside Peeta Mallark, and how they try and survive. This is one of my favorite books of all time. It's a very clever concept, which I think was copied a lot after the fact, and its a really interesting book all the way through. I would recommend this book to literally anyone.

World War Z by Max brooks

World war Z is a science fiction story following a reporters numerous reports about the events of a zombie apocalypse prior to it happening. It's written from the view of various different people from different places talking about their experiences and the whole book is written out to be like a review.

I think it's a really cool book because even though it's about something fictional like a zombie apocalypse, the way he writes it is totally plausible, which makes it really engaging, and a lot of the stories are really interesting.

My Year of Rest And Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh

This book is about a young woman coping with family trauma. She had a difficult childhood, with an alcoholic and pill popping mother and a distant father. Now, with both of them dead, she is living off her inheritance. She starts experimenting with pills, trying to sleep away her emotions. The book also talks about her relationship with her ex boyfriend who treated her horribly. Her one friend is a woman named Reva, who she has a complicated relationship with.

I gave this book a 4/5 because it was interesting and entertaining. In some places it was difficult to get through because of her trauma. Also, at some points its difficult to really feel for the main character because she does have a lot of things going for her and it can feel like she is being ungrateful but you have to realize how impactful the emotional things she went through where.
