- Allow students to add to the course (e.g. photo, readings, etc.), virtual cafe, community
- have some kind of open assignments where students contribute useful resources (that can be used during course and after the course is done -- for the field). Example, a glossary of terms where students create the entries
- During switch to remote delivery, used Used Splot via Open Education Collaborative  (Thompson Rivers U) for students to do presentations in Open platform (and CC licences for the student presenations). OpenEd.ca
- Creating welcoming environment, focusing on arrivals and departures (e.g. using music)
