One where the sunsets touch the waters. Beneath those waters though are what make the ocean so majestic. These animals are now rapidly declining and dying off because of littering. One million seabirds are killed by plastic waste per year. Furthermore 100,000 turtles and sea mammals are killed by plastic waste per year. Plastic water bottles are a huge contribution to these numbers and we need to find a way to fix that by either learning about different ways to create bottles or to use complete alternatives to them.”

This material is a type of petroleum hydrocarbon meaning it is made through the use of fossil fuels.  This material allows for a lightweight and durable construction. The PET is heated to around 500 degrees Fahrenheit and then put into a mold. The bottle is then taken out of the mold and cooled with either liquid nitrogen or a blast of room temperature air. The final product is then ground and perfected to make sure it is ready to be filled with water.”
