The way I changed the shutter speed was a switch on the camera that was on the right side, which is measured in fractions of a record under a second. When switched to left, it changes the speed when you click to take a picture and captures the action movement.
2.) When the shutter speed changes, the photograph slowly starts to focus more on the main objects while the light becomes more darker. The blur is how you know the shutter speed is slow and as it slowly starts to get darker then you know the shutter speed gets faster.
