As we commerate Total Defence Day this year, we've come to appreciate one of the key pillars of Total Defence Day at Changi Airport: Economic Defence.

From the teamwork exhibited by the current staff, to the intricate planning that goes into making Changi Airport what it is today, it goes to show how proactive Singapore has to be in order to remain competitive in the globalised world. This has in turn benefitted the lives of Singaporeans, and we should not take everything we have for granted.

Eco-friendly technology can contribute to total defense by reducing reliance on finite resources, minimizing pollution, and promoting sustainability. By implementing eco-friendly solutions such as renewable energy, efficient waste management, and green infrastructure, countries can enhance their resilience against environmental threats, resource scarcity, and climate change impacts, ultimately bolstering their overall defense and security.

Our experience was enlightening, as we learnt of the many different facilities and things that the airport has to offer. We learnt about how the airport is much more than a facility for planes, but takes so much consideration into the experience of travellers and ensuring that it is a pleasant one, and also maintains its reputation through many creative yet beautiful designs.

The five pillars of defence are vital to ensuring that such places of great value can remain intact and prosper, while these landmarks also contribute back to the country economically
