We checked in at the hotel and then had some free time to explore the city. We visited some shops and bought ourselves something to eat. The guys had pizza, the girls got salads, and the teachers bought asian food. We later took a look at the church of St Anne. Then we went to check out the central city and went to a immersive digital art space & interactive exhibition.

Then we did some more exploring around the city, also visiting some clothing stores.

At 18.00 we went to an italian restaurant "Simply Italian". The customer service was really good and the owner talked about his life in Hungary and how he fell in love with the city of Budapest. The food was delicious. After eating dinner we started going back to the hotel, but before we bought some beverages to enjoy in our hotel room. We were all getting tired so we headed off to sleep early.

Monday

We woke up around 7 am and we got ready for breakfast shrotly after that. The food was good. We then got ready to head to the school. We took a subway ride and also a tram to get there. It was really comfortable to travel from the school to the hotel and back. Then Kristella and Oliver did their presentation on food waste. They were first to do so after the hungarians themselves. We then started listening to the other country's presentations. We then did some ice breaking activities to get to know eachother and to get more comfortable to talking to new people.

Tuesday

We woke up around 7 and we had breakfast at 7.30. Then we had some free time until 9am, we just used the time to rest and get ready to go out. At 9.10 we started going to a museum by taking a subway and a bus ride. Around 12.20 we were done with the museum and everybody was feeling hungry and tired, so we headed out to a place called repeta. We could choose our food ourselves and we thought it was delicious yet filling. Then we walked to a bus stop to take a bus to the island of Margit. On the island we were seperated into groups and we had to complete tasks that were written on a paper. When that was all done we went back to the hotel by bus and a subway.

After we had taken a break we went shopping for clothes, but we didn't buy many things. After that we decided to have dinner. Our eyes were set on a kebab place called "Ursum török kebab". The worker there was very friendly and funny. The food was delicious. Then we decided to go back to the hotel and play some cards. After that we headed to sleep.

After that we had about an hour of free time until lunch. We just relaxed until then. We were then taken on a tour around the city and we were shown lots of buildings and sculptures. After the tour we went to the central city again to look for a dinner spot. After careful selection, we decided for a thai place (Buddha original work bar).

The food was very tasty and we enjoyed our meals a lot. After we were finished eating, we headed back to the hotel and played cards.

Wednesday

We woke up and had breakfast around 7.30 as usual. After eating our food we went back to our rooms to get ready to go out. We took 2 busses to get to the food bank. We were taught a lot about how much food is wasted in hungary and how much the people that work there save. We also learned about what they do with the wasted food.

Thursday

Upon waking up we ate breakfast and got ready to head out to the water treatment facility. We walked to a tram and then rode to the water treatment facility using the help of some busses also. We were taught about how the water is cleaned and what they do with the water. Then we were shown around there and we saw the whole process of cleaning the water. We then had to walk back to a bus stop far away to get to the city.

Later we took the busses back, to go and play volleyball. There were 4 teams: 2 girls' teams and 2 boys' teams. It was pretty fun and the games were close. After that we went to eat, everyone was starving. We had rice with peas and a chicken and tomato soup. After that we went to the city center and 2 hungarian guys showed us around, they were really nice. After we had done that we got back to the city center.

They took us to different shops and we went to look at different places and just walk around the city. We then decided to climb a mountain and look at the view from the top. It was amazing and the guys were super nice. Then they showed us a nice kebab place and the food was exquisite. Then we parted ways and we went back to the hotel room. Soon after we went to sleep.

When we arrived we had an hour of free time until the cruise we had in plan. We left on the cruise at about 1.15. It was relaxing, sitting and looking at the city and the river. After that we went to Kök (the local supermarket), then to the hotel and then back at Kök to eat. We then went to the subway and waited for our teachers. After that we went to the community center where we first saw some very interesting dances and then got to dance ourselves. It was a totally new experience.
