I mostly use discussion as a formative assessment in my sessions. The advantage is that it is quick and authentic, involving direct interaction with the students. There is no room for cheating, as questions are spontaneous. Students get more clarity as they discuss with their classmates. The only disadvantage is that the process is time-consuming and may not be reliable for board assessment.

+ve - we get to know and discuss students' language and reasoning skills

-ve - the quality of the skills are not assessed formally; simply discussed to gain a better understanding of the prompt

Desmos - Advantages: Interactive, self-paced, easy to monitor their progress and give feedback.

Disadvantages: Too many resources or options.

Quizizz - Advantages: students like it, quick and easy to assess.

Disadvantages: Not having multiple levels or relevant to all the ib topics.

Refreshing students memory through oral questions

To divide students in group and tell each group to select one hispanic country and make a tour plan of that country.

They had to make a presentation in the target language and sell it to the visitors.

Each one of them have to speak and explain their respective parts.

There were rubrics to mark the student for each category.

+ve= The students build collaboration skill, Research skill and communication skill through this assessment.
