I decided to choose this video to represent how Nursing Informatics can be helpful in practice. This does not apply specifically to my practice area at the moment but could in the future. Therefore, I selected a video of my ultrasound at 24 weeks. Technology like ultrasound allows providers to get a more in depth look into specific measurements of a fetus to make sure there are no abnormalities to be discovered prior to birth. This type of technology is truly amazing and just the beginning of how nursing informatics impacts today's practice.

This is a photo of the day my husband and I said "I do." This was the best day of my life so far! My husband and I met in 4th grade and grew up down the road from one another, however, we did not begin our romantic relationship until much later in life. After high school my husband entered into the Marine Corps and I went straight into college. 3 years later we went for a snow cone on a whim and the rest is history. To this day I love getting snow cones in the summer because it reminds me of those early stages of our relationship.

These are my fur babies, Charlie and Sadie. Charlie is a Long Coat Dalmatian and he just turned 7 in April of this year! Sadie is a black Lab/Boxer mix who turned 10 in March! They both keep life very interesting (and hairy).

I am a Clemson Tigers fan through and through. I was raised loving Clemson University and I am so glad I will be able to officially be a Clemson Tiger. I chose this picture because this is my preferred spot on any given Saturday between August and November.

I chose this photo because one of the many hobbies I enjoy is fishing. I am not picky about what we are fishing for but I love the thrill of hooking a beautiful fish. I have caught Flounder, Red fish, Snapper, Red Grouper (pictured above), Bass, Carp, Catfish, Shark and a Sting Ray. I cannot wait to add some more to that list!

I have been a nurse for 6.5 years. I started out my nursing career in the Pediatric Intermediate Unit. I spent two years in the PIMU before it was shut down due to low census when COVID struck. During this time I transitioned from the Pediatric Intermediate Unit to the Pediatric ICU where I spent the remaining 4.5 years of my bedside nurse career. I recently stepped away from the bedside in April of 2024 to take a slower paced nursing job in an outpatient pediatric office. Nursing is truly such a passion for me and I am so thankful the outpatient world has given me the ability to reignite my passion for nursing care.
