Television, which is part of Broadcast Media, is the earliest form of media that I have encountered. It is basically an electronic device, or an appliance, that displays content on its screen. It also contains multiple channels. Each channel delivers a different type of content, so you have a separate channel for news, drama, movies, sports, animation, nature, travel, politics, cartoon, and religion. A person may switch channel depending on what type of content they want. (Wendy, 2020).

For those who are exposed to mainstream media, television is a primary source of information and enjoyment. It is thought to be the most authoritative, influential, and exciting media for reaching a vast number of people. It mixes visual imagery, music, motion, and color to elicit empathy from the audience.

Television is one of our world’s most important means of communication.  It shows us information programs, like the news, documentaries, and sports events. We can watch films, listen to interviews and hear the sounds of events that happen far away. Radio broadcasts can provide real-time information, broadcasted 24 hours a day to provide the most recent updates to listeners. Stations have the ability to reach across borders and become a source of information where reliable news is scarce. When access to the internet is blocked and phone lines are cut, people can still search the airwaves for trustworthy sources. Even electricity is not a necessity for battery operated and hand-cranked radios.

BlackBerry was born on 19 January 1999, with the release of the BlackBerry 850. In the immediate years that followed, the brand blew up, offering something all its competitors couldn't touch: Emails on the go. Even if you didn't own a BlackBerry yourself, you can bet your bottom dollar that you knew someone who did, or that you would at least see one in the hands of someone else on a regular basis. That physical QWERTY keyboard with its tap, tap, tapping could be heard in every train carriage and on every plane. It wasn't just about emailing on the go though. You also had BBM - BlackBerry's Instant Messenger service.
