The Mediterranean world in 33CE was a time period where the Rome Empire was a powerful political and military force ruling most of the Mediterranean region. The Main languages spoken was Latin and Greek although other languages were spoken as well like Punic, Aramaic, and Celtic. Through this knowledge, we can see that the Rome empire was very diverse. With Jewish, Greek, Latin, Germanic people, Gauls and many others all living and trading with each other. Since the Rome Empire was so big, roads had to be made to help people travel. These roads are incredibly long, just like their advanced water system and it helped transport the military and trade. The main cities of the Roman Empire were Rome, Alexandria, Antioch, and Ephesus. Ephesus was the birthplace of Saint Paul.

Learning trade as was common for Jewish man and then going back to Jerusalem to reconnect with his roots. Although this is when he started to persecuted Christians. As Christianity spread out of Jerusalem Saul followed to stop the spread of Christianity. Although on his way to Damascus he hears God speak to him about why he was hurting "his" (God's) people. After that Saul was blinded for three days and reflected.

Saint Paul's first missionary journey and the shortest of this three, started in Antioch 46AD and he turned back at Derbe. Saint Paul and Barnabas was called by Holy spirt during a fasting to spread the word of God's son, Jesus. They started at the island Cyprus as it was the birthplace of Barnabas and stated preaching in synagogues. By the time they reached to Derbe although they face many hardships like stones being thrown at them, they had recruited many disciples.

The letters that Paul sent were to help spread the word of God, to be the first building blocks of a more structured religion. The main messages that he shares through these letters were anybody could be saved by God, that redemption can be found in God and his love through faith. He also writes that we should live through faith, "The righteous will live by faith" (Galatians 3:11) believing we should keep the word of God in mind to help us through life. Paul also writes about Jesus and the meaning of his death and resurrection. "In the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified."(Galatians 6:14) This means that Paul believes that through Jesus's death he saves us from our sins and was later resurrected, "Attaining to the resurrection from the dead."(Philippians 3:11).

A cultural challenge that Paul that is revealed in one of his epistles. His disagreement was with the Jewish Christians in Galatia, who believed that you had to be circumcised to be a proper Christian according to the agreement God made with Abraham. Saint Paul didn't believed that it was necessary to be circumcised and that you only had to dedicate your whole belief to God, and you are a Christian. He states this in Galatians 5:6 "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love." A summary of his belief on circumcision; unnecessary.

In Saint Paul's letters to the Philippians had a strong message about being humble and content. In the Philippians 2:3-4 he writes "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others." A clear sign of his belief that we should act on kindness and give in "the interest of others" instead of our own. A problem we face today where social media trick us into wanting more, to never be satisfied with what we have. In times like these Paul tells us to "present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."(Philippians 4:6-7) meaning through God we will fight strength to make the right choice.
