Passage 1-Loneliness( Chapter 4)

“Wilbur didn’t know what to do or which way to run. It seemed as though everybody was against him. ‘I’m less than two months old and I’m tired of living,’ he said. He walked out to the yard. Then he began to cry.”

Question:

Have you ever felt like Wilbur, where it seemed like everyone was against you? How did you handle those feelings, and what made you feel better?

Passage 2 (Chapter 5 - Charlotte):

“When the first light came into the sky and the sparrows stirred in the trees, when the cows rattled their chains and the rooster crowed and the early automobiles went whispering along the road, Wilbur woke and looked for his friend. ‘Charlotte,’ he said softly. The old sheep opened one eye and looked at him. ‘Where is Charlotte?’ she asked. ‘She’s still asleep,’ said Wilbur. ‘Let’s not wake her up.’”

Question:

Just like Wilbur searched for Charlotte in the morning, have you ever had a friend or family member that you always look for first thing in the morning? Why is it important to have people who make you feel safe or happy?

Passage 3 (Chapter 5 - Charlotte’s Introduction):

“‘I think you’ll like her,’ said the goose. Wilbur saw a creature who was stronger than he, who could protect him. He wasn’t sure if he liked her, but he needed her. ‘You sound friendly,’ he said. ‘Yes, I am,’ replied Charlotte. ‘I’ve watched you all day and I like you too. What do you think of me?’”

Question:

When Wilbur first met Charlotte, he wasn’t sure how to feel about her. Have you ever met someone new and weren’t sure if you would get along at first? How did the relationship grow over time?

I haven’t felt like Wilbur but I have felt something like that when my friend and I were fighting about something and then every one was on my friends side

When I was playing in the sand park, my friend (F1) brought her little brother but he didn't like another one of my friends (F2). The gang decided not to play with F2, and I felt very lonely because I wanted to play with F2 as well as F1 too. So then I tried to make peace and then we all started playing together again after a few days.

Yes, my father. When I am not safe and not happy I start crying as I feel upset and scared.

My relationship grew over time because my friend talked to me very nicely,I supported my friend in skating classes.

Yes, when I did something bad, and all my friends went against me. I tried my best to keep calm. I felt better once my friends saw me crying and tried to cheer me up.
