It tells a story of a young boy from Alabama who defies the odds and becomes something great and has his dream life when the cards are stacked against him. Forest Gump is born to Sally Field, a single mother in Greenbow , Alabama. He is not one of the smarter ones in his school and he has issues with his legs and is put in a large leg brace set and in headgear to fix his speech impediment. So the kids at his school are pretty brutal towards him. But one day when looking for a place to sit on the school bus, a beautiful young girl named Jenny Curran asks if he wants to sit down. When he first meets her he has no idea the true pain Jenny goes through. Jenny's dad is a drunk and abuser and her mom passed away when she was a young baby. They bond over their missing parental figure because Forest's dad left his mom. They become instant friends and they spend everyday together. Jenny teaches Forrest how to read and do things in school and Forrest teaches Jenny to swing and jump on trees. They get through elementary school and middle schools and high school and Forrest ends up going to University of Alabama and Jenny ends up going to a all girls school. Forest visits Jenny all the time at her school and they end up becoming even closer. While running for a football while doing yard work for the football team , Forrest makes a discovery that he is incredibly fast and he starts playing for the Alabama football team and he is amazing. He is one of the best running backs because he can run fast and it is difficult to get him down because he is so strong. Forest Gump is set in the 60's and early 70's so this is all going on around the time of the Vietnam War. While Forrest is at University of Alabama , the government is in a time of drafting soldiers. Forrest is a young able bodied man so he gets drafted to go into the Army military. It shows his journey through Vietnam and his struggles and time there. He ends up getting the medal of honor because he carries one of his friends out of the line of fire with a bullet in his buttocks.His friends name was Bubba and he ended up dying.After he gets out of the Army , he gets drafted for the Army Ping Pong team. He returns home after his adventures with the ping pong team and He finds jenny and they reunite after she goes through a lot of tough times and Jenny ends up with a kid. She named him after his dad , Forrest and they begin mending their family. She moves from her apartment and back to Forrest's large plantation house and Jenny ends up being sick with AIDS a big epidemic in this time period and she ends up dying and forest is left to take care of his son. This movie will tug at your heart strings truly.  It has heart and symbolism and pure emotions. The actors in it are truly gifted. Tom hanks plays this difficult role perfectly because Tom Hanks is a very intelligent individual. In my own life, I could begin to love myself and I won't need to search for love in other people or search for my acceptance in other people. I read a book one time, named " Paper Towns" and the main character was Margo. She was a wild teen who had this boyfriend who she always was with and they were never separate and he ended up cheating on her and she went on this weird personality change. I think if she loved herself more than she did , she wouldn't become something different because she lost the love of her boyfriend. In the world around me , there are so many examples of this problem with people not loving themselves. If it is not in the way I need it to be , I get a little bent out of shape. My doctor has even told me I have high blood pressure because of how much I stress over things. Most of the things that I stress over are things that I have no control over. I have taken up yoga and other things to help it but I still stress a lot. It keeps me from living my life to full potential. I still achieve a lot , I keep going always. But I dream of living without stress. It is crippling. It was a time of great sacrifice and many countries did everything they could to win war for their side. King George put out this speech to reach out to people to get involved with the right side of the war. He did a great thing by doing this because he established himself as a strong world leader with the experience and tools and education to help his people. After Hitler invaded Poland, Great Britain came to the realization they must put and end to Hitlers regime because they knew he would grow too powerful if not stopped as soon as possible. Connecting the text to myself, I sympathize with King George because he had to step up and inspire and lead the people he was speaking to and people all over the world.I have had to step up in a lot of situations and take charge because there is lack of communication or what have you, so the pressure of being a leader can really effect someones stability.  Connecting this text to other texts, this is just like anytime when a speech has to be given in order to inspire and ignite a group of people. Like in Paper Towns, one of the main characters gives a speech to his friends about living their senior year their best. William Safire a speechwriter for President Richard Nixon wrote this speech in case of a disaster with the astronauts on the moon. And, this is a truly effective and well written speech. President Nixon did makes some mistakes in the morale department but he always knew how to give a great speech. His monotone voice and serious nature made people believe and respect what the man said. The speech written by Safire though was well executed and honored the brave men who were picked for the moon landing perfectly. Connecting this text to myself, I have had to create back up plan after back up plan in many aspects of my life. When taking care of my brother, I have really learned how to have plans A through Z and in my schoolwork I have had to learn to make sure to always back myself up with copies and what not. Connecting this text to another text, in Paper towns, Margo created a master plan to get back at her cheating boyfriend and had 3 back up plans incase the one she wanted fell through. And connecting this text to the world, people create back up plans all the time. The Republican Party is against abortion and are " pro life" which means they believe the fetus's right to live should not be infringed upon by the mother or anyone. Lately, in the Republican Party there has been some controversy on if there are exceptions for getting a abortion and it it causing quite an uproar. The water lilies and Japanese bridge. The painting is about the simple beauty and view of life. He uses a 3-D kind of texture and pastel colors simplistic  shading in the bridge and the water lilies to grab the audiences attention. The title contributes to the painting in just the way of naming it. The pastel colors come together to create a simple and beautiful tone to the painting. Claude Monet created the most simplistic yet beautiful painting to grace the impressionist movement. 
TED TALK: I watched a ted talk about procrastination and it speaks volumes in my own life. I have been in school for 11 years now and I am a little bit of a procrastinator.
