He was able to really have fun with his students, making things like lightsaber battles in the hallway something normal to see on the way into class. He also had a way of making the students feel comfortable, and that he was actively listening to any concerns a student might have with the learning. He always had the best intentions with for his students' success. Lastly, he was able to flip a switch when needed to become more serious and get students attention, but it came from a place of respect due to the above traits and interactions he had with students.

She did a lot of hands-on activities, which was not something that I had a lot of experience with in ELA prior. She also was super knowledgeable and gave a lot of work/feedback while also leaving time for fun and conversations. I thought I knew a lot about English by then since it was AP Lang, but I honestly think I learned more that year than any other.

They did this by allowing creative freedom on assignments, time to move around the room, and spoke to students as equals. This teacher pushed the content on us, but was more focused on how we were improving as individuals. This teacher incorporated pop culture and other related content to make the lessons more engaging. A welcoming teacher that everyone came to visit even if you didn’t have them.

She always went above and beyond when it came to building relationships with her students. For example, she took the time during her lunch to start a scrapbooking club, which I found out recently that she started because one of her students had trouble making friends. She also gave students her email so they could ask her questions about the homework outside of school.
