"That's My Girl"- Fifth Harmony

I picked "That's My Girl" by Fifth harmony for my introduction because this song explains "Who's been working so hard" " Got some dirt on your shoulder, let me brush it off for you" and this is a perfect example of how you have to work threw problems and be independent. And throughout the years we have paused and changed a society and get up and work hard every day. This song is about empowering everyone to get up, work hard and that's exactly what us people did over time to get where we are today.

The African Slave Trade was a unique part of history mostly because of its triangle route. It involved the transportation by slave traders from Africa and traveled mostly to the Americas. This turning point in history existed from the 16th to 19th century. This historical event is important because this historical event plays a crucial role in the development of the modern world economy. The slaves provided the power to settle in the New World. In addition slaves produced the first mass of products for markets, those products include, tobacco, coffee, cocoa, and eventually cotton. The African Slave Trade also was in charge of European shipping, manufacturing and gun making. This is all important and related to the real world because without this event in history ever occurring we would not have had food to sell now-a-days, tobacco for cigarettes, and finally trading routes would not have discovered. This song reminded me of this event because Katy Perry talks about "this is the part of me, that you're never ever gonna take away form me" which reminded me of how powerful these slaves could have been after being punished and beat and how someone should take advantage of you or take your happiness away. At the end of this song Katy sings "Now look at me, I'm a firework you won't ever pout me down" and that reminds me of us now, like our economy is a way more developed and slavery is not really a big problem today. But when she says "Firework" it shows the potential and you can do anything if you put your mind to it, therefore I'm referring to the slaves.

This song is a great way to wrap up these events in history. By the title of the song it really does mean everything has changed in our world today. This song talks about the highs and lows and how we grow and develop and were finally something brand new. This can relate to the Slave Trade because now our trading has become completely different. We started out just learning but over time we develop, people think of new ideas and although we can stumble along the way we always get to our goal. "The beautiful kind, making up for lost time" this line of the song is power. During the scientific revolution the churches did not support scientific discoveries this line relates back to that example for a reason being people missed out on learning and trusting others and people were losing time in paying attention to scientists who were sharing important theory's and ideas to others. Lastly this song shows us to getting to know someone better and how you miss someone overtime.

"Drag Me Down"- One direction

The fall of the Western Roman Empire was the process of decline in the Western Roman Empire in which the Empire failed to enforce its rule, and its vast territory was divided into several successor polities. The cause of the empire was due to invasion of barbarian tribes (they gathered around the border to fight), economic trouble and over reliance on slave labor (due to the many wars it was widening a gap between rich and poor), the rise of the eastern empire (the emperor divided the empire into two halves and soon the eastern empire became more strong and ready to fight outside forces). This was a very important period in time because it was a new era, " a start of the dark ages" as people would say. Which made for conflict, war and scary times. I picked "Drag Me Down" because in the song they talk about "you can drag me down" which sounds very like a clash of something. I think of it as the roman empire being dragged down by other when it was getting destroyed and wrecked.

"I'm Still Standing"- Elton John

The Scientific Revolution was a series of events that marked the coming of age of modern science. Lots of famous scientists contributed to the scientific discoveries Galileo was mapping the stars and space, and Andreas Vesalius was making anatomical discoveries. Though it was fun finding the discoveries it was very hard because they faced tons of challenges. The catholic church was basically the government at the time. They opposed the scientific discoveries because many turned against the bible. The scientists however did not let the church get in their way of their discoveries. So Galileo and other scientist started to publish their work privately. This time period was very important because the discoveries the scientist made were more then just astonishing they allowed for huge innovation that would not have been discovered today. The reason I picked "I'm still standing" by Elton John is because these scientist really did not care about what the church had to say or all the criticism they kept doing what they loved and did not let people get to them. And look now we have used the discoveries to have jobs, get better in health and etc. These scientist shaped science to what it is today. The point is to keep on doing what you love, just because someone does not like the idea or oppose of it, it's what you like.
