I liked the video of the students explaining themselves...It's very true that students each have a different way of learning. Each does not have to conform to the norm...I don't mean disrupting the class but as the child said if he needs to move in his chair it should be ok. A believe a child does have some inner awareness of what works for him/her. We should respect their self awareness as well as they should respect the teacher's management of the class. The current trend of teaching and problem solving fosters the that independent thinking. Even with individuality we can and should have mutual respect so the classroom becomes positive safe and fun place to be.

If they want to slouch, look around or rock, as long as it is okay with administrators and won't be held against the teacher- I think it is fine as long as the student is growing. Relationships with students are important and there are small ways to make an effort to be involved in their daily interests. I am all in for that!
Developing positive relationships between teachers and students has a positive, significant, and long-lasting impact on the students’ lives, both academically and socially. A student would work better in class if they felt that their teacher valued and cared for them. We all would want to feel loved and cared for, and so do students. They feel valued if the teacher not only cares about their grades but also their well-being and social life.
