Do you know about segregation? Do you know what it means? Segregation was a practice after the Civil War when it ended on April 9th, 1865. Slaves were free after the Civil War ended. Many white ✈️🛫people where mad that colored people could live alongside them. Then they started making laws that kept white people and people of colors separate, and those laws were mostly in the Southern parts of North America such as Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Texas, and the other countries in that area , and there was no one to stop those laws. If you want to know more about this, and how many leaders took huge risks to make everything equal, then read on.

Now that you have read about segregation and integration, think of the Civil Rights Movement. Think of all the people who took great risks to be treated fairly. When segregation took place in the mid 1800's, who knew it would take a whole century, just to get the right to go to the same restaurant, or sit in the same train car and get the same education. This was very unfair, but at the same time it is very inspiring to all of us. The civil rights movement was very important to history, and without it, not all of the things you do today, and the people you see would be the same without the civil rights movement. All of the sacrifice, all of the loss of many leaders of the movements, all of the marches for miles, all of the kids and teens token to jail because of marching peacefully for their rights, and all of the work, effort, and risk, you should be thankful, for all of the people who worked so hard for a better future for all of us, we should be inspired, and also there are things you can do, like stand up for other people, and help. A lot of our leaders are gone, but we can still keep doing what they did, standing up for what is right. so go do that!
