+To give local products related with fashion a better presence in the industry.

+Giving elder people an important place in the tecnhological society we live.

This is one of the main characteristics of our proposal, create and renforce the bonds between people in order to create a community.

We will try to solve the social problem of elder women that are in risk of social exclusion, giving them a place where they can work and show they work. Buying one of our products we will not be just a simple purchase but an action social and emotional, that will enforce the bonds of our community.

Additionally, we will be creating value for the local producers farms of yarn an wool as we will offer their products in our offer.

This way we will enforce the bonds creating a sustainable knit community that will revalue the importance of the hand made work and the low fashion.

With this proposal we will be able to:

• Rethink the way of buying garments and how the fashion process is developed.

• Reduce the amount of winter jumpers we acquired.

• Repair in case something breaks, as each piece has a long garantee, by which you can repair as many times as it is needed.

• Recycle, as we would offer the customers the option of giving back their pieces if they want to buy a new one. This way we will be able to recycle the yarn into new pieces for other applications such as carpets.

• The customer, which orders the model which wants to have and the yarn or wool (that local farmers provide).

  We estimate that the main public we'll have will be spanish women from 25-55 years old aprox.

• The quality and organisation control, that garantees the process. This will be done by hired employees.

• The creators, the artisan women that create the pieces. This spanish women will have an age aprox. 60-85 years old.

• The Local Farm resources, that provide with the material for create the pieces. This will change in function of the place this platform is settled. For example in our region the wool will be the main product.

• Shipment Sustainable Entreprise, to take our products from our creators to their destination.

Our bussiness will help to reduce a great amount of the CO2 footprint as we will use local products, and we'll choose shipment sustainable entreprises. Having into acount all these measure we will be able to have a nice and less polluting product.

The women that create the pieces will be offered the opportunity to show their art in a proffesional and legal way. They we'll be given a place in the industry, not just as artisans but as actors of the sustainable and ecological change. What is more, this will be a social change, as this group will be able to explore new ways of developing their work.

I calculate that we will need aproximately 1 year to reach the main objectives of our project as a nice social media impact must be done. Therefore, we will need also to find the way to arrive to elder people, thorught other communication methods such as paper advertisement and TV ads.

✔ Sustainable value

We will refuse a fast fashion production. Our products will be done once the request of our client has be done, but we won't work with stock, reducing our CO2 impact. We calculate that we will reduce 0.63 kg of CO2 with each piece we create. This way we will also reduce the amount of acrylic fibres in the market. As the UPC says : "Acrylic fibres account for a low percentage in terms of reclying. Their study show a large difference between recyclable clothing (12.4%) and reusable clothing (3.1%), because clothing made from these fibres is the most readily deteriorated"

✔Emotional value

We will be able to create not just a bond between the creators and the customers but an emotional relationship with the knited piece, as you decide what look you want the piece is going to have and you have to wait some time to have it done.

We can find a similar example with woodwork. If you ask for a table to be done for your living room you will ask the wood artisan for some specific characteristics that you want them to have. Then you'll have a special relation with that piece as it was for your own needs.

As in the example of the table, with our knited piece, we will use it for a long time and if we don't want to use it anymore we will really think about who is going to use it.

✔Social value

Thanks to the platform, we will help the elder women that want to sell their pieces to achieve this in a proffesional and legal way. What is more, this project has as an aim to help the old knitted techniques not to be lost. So we will help to make these known by the youth.

• Achievable: After having tested our idea thanks to our research customers tell us that is 85% sucessful.

• Relevant: This idea can be also used in other cities as it is scalable.

• Time-bound: aproximately 1 year

In a financial aspect I calculate that the project will be feasible to develop. The price of the pieces will be calculated having into consideration the kind of material and the model the customers decided and the hours of work this piece needs. One hour of work will be paid 12€ (the minumun wage 2024 in Spain is 8,45€/hour). Considering a jumper that has 10 hours of work, a wool ball of 8,5€ price and the shipment and garantee we estimate a 150€ for this piece.

At the begining financial help will be needed for the advertisement campaign, for the identy brand design and the web creation. However the cost will be covered in 6 monts and the project will be profitable in a period of a year.

In terms of extra income, we will develop workshops in our physical store and have a donation campaign for defray the costs of our project.

I made some research and I read about some entrepreneurs platforms such as KickStarter that help projects to be known and financed by other people. This will be also a good solution to help our product to come true.

• We have a sample of 15 people between 18-65 years old that where asked the questions required.

  
  

• The project was considered to be a great idea that would help the transition towards a sustainable alternative to fast fashion. They asked the sample if they thought the project had potential and a 90% of the answers were positives, and they said: It will help to enforce bonds, it will help reducing the environmental impact and it will be nice to have alternatives to the common fashion shops. However, a 13,3% thought that it will not be enough offer and a 6,75 said that there will not be enough demand.

  
  

• Thanks to the answers we can affirm that people will be interested in participating in our project as customers, but it’ll be a bit more difficult to find artisans that are keen on working with deadlines. After having into consideration these helpful comments, I decided to interview 3 women over 65 years that could offer a different opinion of the situation. They said that they would be really interested to sell their products and that maybe having a longer deadline would be a nice idea so that they don’t stress that much.

  
  

To sum up, I was able to know what others though about the idea in an anonymous survey and bearing into mind their opinions, changing some aspects of the project.
