First, she starts to think of all the reasons why he was taking so long to return to Claverage. She starts to ask around and try to figure out what happened to Cap.

In chapter 25 of "Schooled", Zach tries to find a way to gain back his reputation. He argues with people about what may have happened but he doesn't seem to care whether or not Cap is actually injured. Naomi then says the question no one else would ask, 
"what if he is dead." 

In chapter 25, everyone is hating on Zach and Darryl because they both hurt Cap. Everyone is thinking that Cap is dead. At lunch, Hugh and Zach are talking and the both do not think he is dead. Zach is even more Jealous of Cap now because he is getting more attention. Hugh even finds a spitball in Zach's hair. So Zach and Hugh go to the library to make a fake memorial for Cap.
