This class pushed me to try different things like actively collaborating with my classmates on the light project (which was so incredible hard at first, but also so rewarding afterwards) and finally stretching my own canvas.

I really got to know my classmates on a deeper level and staying and working with people in Devlin was so much fun. Watching people create art and listening to their thought process behind what they were creating was so insightful.

I'm also so glad we talked about such a wide variety of artists because I think it's so easy for us students to box art and thus ourselves into very traditional and predefined definitions of what art is. There is so much out there that is "art" and there truly is a space for it all.

The nightly sketches was also very therapeutic for me as I ended up just using it kind of like a diary. I wrote so freely about what I drew in there and I like how casual it was.

I also always thought I would most enjoy an art class that would let me do whatever I wanted, but every single assignment has taught me new things and pushed me to greater bounds. The final project was just free enough that everything I'd learned leading up to it genuinely helped and felt "worth it". (I'm also so glad to have made "art friends" and gotten to know some people from the Hatchery!)
