My proudest moment was when I finished the practical test because although my brownies were burnt, they gave me a sense of satisfaction after many previous practices and lessons. I was happy to have had completed the examination, and also quite satisfied with the presentation of my dish.

Managing my time and remembering the different steps in the recipe was my greatest challenge. I found it difficult and stressful to finish each lesson's respective dish in the given time but still managed to complete the dishes with the help of my partner!

With respect to my goals, my proudest moment was when I was able to play at least one song on the guitar. I was able to learn a completely new instrument and fingerings for different chords, which makes me proud because I improved a lot from when I first starting learning the guitar.

With respect to my goals, my greatest challenge was the music composition as it was difficult to come up with a completely new song with Garageband. I had to draw inspiration from different songs and try my best to be creative in the song composition. However, through working with my partner and discussing, I was able to complete the song.

How has the learning of the guitar made you aware of the importance of
i) Tempo and Rhythm?

The learning of the guitar has made me more aware of the importance of tempo and rhythm because I learnt that in order to play well with others, we need to play in rhythm and keep to the tempo, or else the song would sound messy and not be in sync.

ii) Chords and Accompaniment?

The learning of the guitar has made me more aware of the importance of chords and accompaniment because I learnt to use accompaniment and chords to enhance the sound of the song, and so that the song will sound better.

Composition:

Although it was difficult to come up with a tune for our song at first, after brainstorming and sourcing for inspiration, we managed to come up with chords, which we then used to compose the song with different instruments on Garageband. From this experience, I learnt the importance of creativity and teamwork, because my partner and I had to learn to cooperate and contribute to the project.

Listening:
I learnt to identify the melody, chords and accompaniment by listening to a song, and also learnt the structure of a song.

some drawings, although simple, were very meaningful through their visual impact and variations.

I think that I have met the task demands of nutritional value as I modified the recipe to have slightly less butter (fat) and sugar, and also added fruits on each slice of the brownie, and the task demands of manipulative skill as I used the creaming method in this recipe which turned out fine, and the mixture did not curdle.

Reflect on the practical test session
❏ Were you able to manage time?
I was not really able to manage my time well as I was making good progress in the first 20 minutes, but after the brownie came out of the oven, I was not very efficient and instead quite slow in the washing up, drying and keeping of the remaining utensils and plates.

❏ Did you face difficulties? How did you overcome them?
I faced some difficulty when my brownie came out of the oven burnt because it was quite hard to remove it from the baking tin. However, I tried my best to loosen the corners of the brownie and eventually it turned out fine. I also dusted the brownie with icing sugar and tried to cover up the burnt parts with the sugar and cut fruits.

❏ How would you have done it differently?
I would have been faster in my actions and more careful about the baking of the brownie. I could shorten the time used to bake the brownie and check on it every 5-10 minutes to make sure that it does not get burnt.

Reflect on the food blogging process
❏ How useful were the nutritional tools?
I think that the nutritional tools were useful in extending my understanding of nutritional value and its importance to our health. 

❏ How manageable were the manipulative skills for you?
I think the manipulation skill, the creaming method, was quite manageable as in the times I practised baking the brownie at home and on the day itself, the mixture did not curdle and the batter was smooth.

❏ How purposeful were the investigative activities in helping you come
up with your final creation?
I think the previous investigative activities were quite useful as it showed me the different textures and outcomes of a dish that could be achieved with modifications in the recipe. This helped me in giving me ideas for the modification of my recipe to make it taste, feel and look better.
