We are reading The Three Little Pigs, the children have enjoyed exploring the story using props and joining in using communication boards.

The story helps us to explore our science topic which is Everyday Materials, we have used straw, sticks and brick printing to decorate houses. We have also used blocks and bricks to build some houses of our own design then tried to blow them down like the wolf.

In maths we have explored shapes and sizes, recognising tall and short towers as well as sorting 2D and 3D shapes. We have also been exploring more and less in number.

For sensory baking we made pig face pancakes, using fruit and marshmallow fluff to make it pink.

We enjoyed our music session, our topic this half term is showcase and reflection to celebrate all we have learnt through our music sessions. We enjoyed playing music alongside our friends this week, taking turns and following the music notes.

The children have done some great reading, writing and mark making through the week for lots of different activities.

To celebrate the Men’s World Cup starting, we have enjoyed decorating flags from countries involved and had a fun filled World Cup afternoon of activities.

The children enjoyed PE on the Astro Turf taking part in sack races, sorting hoops on cones and working on their football skills.

In sensory baking we made our own porridge, measuring out milk, mixing it together and using the microwave. We could then choose a topping from fruit, jam or syrup.

We have explored properties of materials, decorating bears using different textures. Sorting different materials by texture.

For maths we have explored capacity using language including full, empty and half full. The children have explored scooping and pouring using different sized containers.

The children have enjoyed making some Fathers Day crafts this week, ready for our special person afternoon on Friday.

We have made invitations, decorated tea pots and explored decorating tigers.

In maths and literacy we have done sensory baking following instructions to make sandwiches and measuring ingredients to make scones.

For our art topic we are exploring movement and art, this week we enjoying flicking elastic bands secured around a tray with paper to make some fantastic splatter paintings.

In maths we have explored making enclosures, using shapes or colours to make patterns on snakes. We have been counting animals in our number sessions, recognising more and less with quantities.

The children have made smoothies and crispy cakes in sensory baking, we love a frozen fruit smoothie!

We have experienced what Wimbledon is all about, using bats and balls to practice our skills playing with friends. In our sensory play we have found numbers as well as balls of different shapes and sizes.

We have also used Dear Zoo to make our own story massage for our Pathway to Independence topic this half term.

In shape, space and measure we have explored positional language, exploring where we can place animals and what words we use to describe their position.

On sensory playground we have had so much fun playing with our friends, developing our communication and independence skills using equipment.

We have loved spending this year together and hope the children have a lovely summer.
