Additionally, when freedom isn’t handed out equally is a certain reason on how rebellion is justifiable. The final piece of evidence comes from a poem titled “How to Make an Empty Cardboard Box Disappear in 10 Steps” by Clint Smith. The poem is quite simplistic, yet it manages to deliver a heavy message that impacts the reader heavily after reading it. Clint Smith writes, “Find the scissors

Cut the sides of the cube/ 2) Attend the rally of Trayvon Martin/ 3)Attend the rally of Renisha McBride/ 4) Attend the rally of Jordan Davis/ 5)Attend the rally of Michael Brown/ 6) Attend the rally of Eric Garner/ 7) Attend the rally of Freddie Gray/ 8) Find another empty box/ 9) Attend the rally of_______________”

This poem projects what the outcome would be if no one rebelled, and we just let these police shootings happen. We would attend the rallies of all these deceased people, but the shootings would keep happening The thing is, we also know that these will keeping happening, hence the last step “Attend the rally of______________”. The poem shows a clear message that rebelling is justifiable because of the mistreatments of the African-American people.

In Kaepernick’s Protest article, written by Credit Hiroko Masuike/The New York Times, it says that people that were african american that were in the NFL kneeled during the national anthem. Kaepernick stated the whole movement because the national anthem was racist,so he refused to stand for the anthem. Black people were being discriminated (treated differently because they were of different race). For example, “The player, Colin Kaepernick, a former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, caused conflict last season by kneeling during the national anthem before games to protest police brutality and racial oppression. He inspired several other players to follow suit or make similar gestures, leading to debate about whether athletes should publicly engage in political discourse — and how actively.” This means that people of black decent are being treated differently than the people of white decent.

To begin, rebellion is justifiable when people are treated with cruelty. In the poem “How to Make an Empty Cardboard Box Disappear in 10 Steps”, by Clint Smith, a writer, poet, and scholar, he created a poem to acknowledge the racial inequality going on in America and what would happen as a result. He wrote, “1) Find the scissors/ 2) Cut the sides of the cube/ 3) Attend the rally of Trayvon Martin/ 4) Attend the rally of Renisha McBride/ 5) Attend the rally of Jordan Davis/ 6) Attend the rally of Michael Brown/ 7) Attend the rally of Eric Garner/ 8)Attend the rally of Freddie Gray/ 9) Find another empty box/ 10) Attend the rally of_______________”. The citation of the poem shows cruelty on behalf of society. The poem means that, unless things change throughout America (or anywhere with racial inequality), there will be hundreds more names on the list of rallies. That is why there is a blank spot, ready to be filled with the next name. The names represent deaths due to racial inequality. This is cruelty on behalf of society because nothing is being done to stop racial inequality. If nothing is changing, then racial inequality won’t stop. People will keep dying for no reason which is very cruel. Rebellion is justifiable in these circumstances, because if nothing is being done nation-wide, then people must fight for themselves. People must do this in order to stay alive.

Secondly, in “A year after shooting, Ferguson inches toward new reality” by Los Angeles Times, it informs, “ A U.S. Justice Department investigation found that Ferguson police stopped cars driven by black people because they were black. The police also raised money for the city by ticketing and jailing poor residents, which has led to reforms throughout Missouri and a deeper discussion of the issues.”This evidence suggests that the Ferguson police officers had been taking advantage of the African American citizens of the town and ticketing and arresting them at higher rates than other races because of racism or either because they were poor. This shows a right to rebel because the African American citizens had been taken away from their own justice. It seemed like as if living in ferguson took away their freedom or rights based on the way they were treated because of their race by the officers and they had wanted more than a change they wanted their right of freedom back.

Actually the Commandment read: “No animal shall drink alcohol TO EXCESS.”

This means that the animals are not granted freedom because the pigs are being selfish and changing the laws to benefit themselves.
Additionally, rebellion is justifiable when people are discriminated against race, religion, gender, etc.In the article “A year after shooting, Ferguson inches toward new reality” by the Los Angeles Times, they mention “The sound of a white police officer’s gunshots in Ferguson, Missouri. A black 18-year- old named Michael Brown killed on a street near his home. Angry black residents were tired of poverty, tired of getting pulled over, tired of being fined for seemingly senseless traffic stops. They finally hit their breaking point as Brown lay in a pool of his own blood.”This evidence suggests that rebellion is justifiable when people are treated with cruelty. Michael Brown was shot and killed by a white police officer on the street, claiming he did out of fear even though all Brown had was a bag of skittles in his pocket. The people who rebelled in the name of Michael Brown have every right to rebel because everyone deserves equal rights and treatment, regardless of race.

To begin, rebellion is justifiable when freedom is not granted equally. In the article “St. Louis Protest”, an article about the killing of Anthony Lamar Smith, a young African American, by Cait Bladt, a writer for The Rolling Stone, she writes,” Judge Timothy Wilson ruled on Friday that Jason Stockley was not guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Anthony Lamar Smith.” This example shows a justifiable rebellion due to the cruel killing of an innocent African American man. This is justifiable because the police are abusing their power and killing people without consequence. This is cruel because all humans are created equal, but the bloodshed of Anthony Lamar Smith shows that some people are not treated equally, and are seen as threats just for the color of their skin. In fact, the Declaration of Independence states that all men are created equal, so everyone should be treated the same. The lack of this ideal is why some people believe in a lower race, hence driving people to rebel against that.

Additionally, rebellion is also justifiable when a leader becomes corrupt and tries to gain the power for himself or herself. When a leader gains too much control over their land, most leaders will corrupt and will cheat on others to gain more of everything. In the article MLK Myths, by Jeanne Theoharis, she noted, “Reed’s claim was historically absurd. Martin Luther King Jr. took many a highway—most famously, perhaps, in the Selma-to-Montgomery march. Reed is not the only one trafficking in dangerous and distorted ideas of the civil rights movement. Across the political spectrum over the past two years, as Black Lives Matter burst into national consciousness, many commentators—from former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee (who said that King would be appalled by BLM) to Oprah Winfrey (who told young activists “to take note of the strategic, peaceful intention if you want real change” ) and the Rev. Barbara Reynolds (“We were nonviolent activists who won hearts by conveying respectability and changed laws by delivering a message of love and unity”)—have invoked the history of the civil rights movement to chastise Black Lives Matter.”This evidence suggests that most respectful leaders, like Martin Luther King, could become a corrupt leader if he keeps closing off any more buildings to himself. Basically, most respectful leaders could also alter their laws in order to restrict everything to their own rule. Most of these reasons are why leaders have become corrupt.

Smith drove into traffic and Bianchi hit him with the police car, ending the chase.”
This clearly shows how a leader has become corrupt because the police officers, who are supposed to make sure that the community is safe, are using their power as officers to kill innocent people. This means that rebellion is justifiable when a leader becomes corrupt because the leaders of the community, or otherwise known as police officers, are not using their power irresponsibly and recklessly.

He leans into the car to talk to Smith and there seems to be some kind of struggle. Stockley then pulls back and fires several shots into the car.”

This shows that Stockley, the officer, is making comments about the man in the car like nothing will happen to him if he hurts him. Another thing to notice is that Stockley fires several gun shots into the car that are hitting Smith and Stockley continuing to shoot him even though he has already been hit. This shows that the rights in this scenario are more clearly towards the cop than the man in the car. This example justifies rebellion because it shows that the police had all the rights and freedom while the man in the car couldn't do anything to defend himself from the cop.

While interviewing the residents of Ferguson (Brown’s home town) one of them said, “If you ask a person who lives in St. Louis County what’s different, they’ll say nothing.” This example indicates that rebellion is justifiable when your safety is in danger because the residents of Ferguson are in danger and one of them could get killed again because the people said that after a year, nothing has changed. Since nothing has changed, there could be another victim and it is only a matter of time until it happens.

In the article “These Black Lives Matters protesters planned a march. The police threw them a cookout instead,” by Colby Itkowitz, a reporter on the Post's local desk describes how rebellion can be non-violent if both sides are willing to discuss their concerns. For example, the text states, “This budding relationship with police is a first step, and Bohannon said he’s committed to maintaining it. They’ll have more meetings and social outings. There’s talk of a kickball game. But the channels of communication are now open.”This evidence suggests that the Black Lives Movement can agree by having a cook out with the police department. They are also jailing and ticketing poor people to raise money, but not doing the same for the rich or middle class people. This evidence suggests that freedom is not granted equally which would be a good reason to rebel because others are getting picked on for things they can’t control which is not fair.

To begin, rebellion is justifiable when freedom is not granted equally to all. In the the novel Animal Farm, by George Orwell, an English novelist, essayist, journalist, and a critic, he stated, “But no animal escapes the cruel knife in the end. You young porkers...every one of you will scream your lives out at the block within a year. To that horror we all must come — cows, pigs, hens, sheep, everyone...You, Boxer, the very day that those great muscles of yours lose their power, Jones will sell you to the knacker, who will cut your throat...His men were idle and dishonest, the fields were full of weeds, the buildings wanted roofing, the hedges were neglected, and the animals were underfed...The men had milked the cows in the early morning and then had gone out rabbiting, without bothering to feed the animals. When Mr. Jones got back he immediately went to sleep on the drawing-room sofa with the News of the World over his face, so that when evening came, the animals were still unfed. At last they could stand it no longer. One of the cows broke in the door of the store-shed with her horn and all the animals began to help themselves from the bins. It was just then that Mr. Jones woke up. The next moment he and his four men were in the store-shed with whips in their hands, lashing out in all directions. This was more than the hungry animals could bear.”
This proves that rebellion is justifiable when freedom is not granted equally to all because in the novel Animal Farm, Jones and his workers did not grant freedom equally to all of the animals on the farm. Instead, they underfeed them, killed them when they became weak, took away their offspring, and brutally beat them when they did not do what they are supposed to do.

Secondly, In the St. louis protest articles, created by Cait Bladt, she wrote, “During the subsequent investigation, Stockley's DNA was found on the handgun recovered from Smith's car. Investigators could find no trace of Smith's, despite Stockley's assertion that the gun belonged to the victim. Experts cautioned, however, that even though Smith's DNA is not present, it's impossible to say with certainty he had not touched the gun.”This suggests that even with evidence that Stackly had his DNA on the gun, and they could not even find a trace of Smith's on the gun, and still they did not make him guilty of murder. This proves that rebellion is necessary because the officer isn’t being charged for his crime and that is unjust.

Lastly, in the “St. Louis Protest” article, written by Cait Bladt, in September 21, 2017, she includes a phrase said by a police officer who was acquitted of the death of Anthony Lamar Smith when the police officer chases Smith through the streets and can be audibly heard saying, “... “we're going to kill this mother******, don't you know it." Smith drove into traffic and Bianchi hit him with the police car, ending the chase.”This clearly shows how a leader has become corrupt because the police officers, who are supposed to make sure that the community is safe, are using their power as officers to kill innocent people. This means that rebellion is justifiable when a leader becomes corrupt because the leaders of the community, or otherwise known as police officers, are not using their power irresponsibly and recklessly.

Two begin, rebellion is justifiable when freedom is not granted equally. In the article “St. Louis Protests: Everything You Should Know”, by Cait Bladt, a writer, she writes, “Protesters and police are once again flooding the streets of St. Louis, Missouri following the acquittal of a white police officer who shot and killed a black suspect in 2011. Judge Timothy Wilson ruled on Friday that Jason Stockley was not guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Anthony Lamar Smith.” This evidence shows that not all people are treated equally because there getting shot and the police aren't getting in trouble for it. Therefore, the people of St. Louis should rebel because they were not being treated fairly. :()

In the article, “Kaepernick’s Protest Cascades Into Protests Over His Job Situation”, by Ken Belson, he wrote, “The player, Colin Kaepernick, a former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, caused conflict last season by kneeling during the national anthem before games to protest police brutality and racial oppression. He inspired several other players to follow suit or make similar gestures, leading to debate about whether athletes should publicly engage in political discourse — and how actively.”
This evidence suggests that freedom is not granted equally because Kaepernick doesn’t have the right to kneel during the national anthem and he should have freedom to do it. This also proves that rebellion is a justifiable act because people should rebell for the freedom and right to do what they want because Kaepernick was not doing anything wrong he was only protesting and fighting for racial inequalities.
