A short story known as “A Tell-Tale Heart”  was based off two dudes, One dude killed the other dude, He buried his body under the floorboards of his house, and Ever since the killing, The dude could hear a heartbeat inside his house and was convinced, Thinking that he guy he killed was still certainly alive under the floorboards. Edgar had been apart of the southern gothic influence by having elements of it. What gothic elements do include are, Death, Horror, and Mysteries, These types of atmospheres were read in several of edger's poems and stories.

Though there are far more than just one theory, This still continues to be a mystery in history. First off, Edgar was on his way to philadelphia to edit some poetry for Mrs. St. Leon Loud,  Unfortunately he did not arrive to which was his editing volume for Mrs.Loud. Instead he was found on October 3rd, 1849, What is even more quiere is, Around these dates it was usually voting season, and The voting season in the past, People would reward others to go under many different names and vote for the same person over and over. Once they had finished doing so, They would be rewarded with alcohol and new clothes. This theory was included to the death of Edgar because when Dr.Snodgrass had found him in the pit, He had cheap clothes and was unconscious. Though, in some other theories it is said he was in a bad condition and was all bruised up and beat up. Many other theories also say, When he was taken to the hospital “Washington College Hospital,” Edgar kept on saying “Reynolds” over and over since he could not regain his conscious back. Either way, Edgar Allan Poe’s death, Still remains a mystery.

Edgar’s poem, “Annabel Lee,” was dedicated to his dear wife, Virgina Eliza Clemm Poe, Which had unfortunately passed away right before edgar's poem had even been made. Edgar had a very difficult time trying to get over virgina's death, So he made a poem which he expresses how he felt about her death, Since his wife was also his cousin, He had mentioned the heavens being upset with them. A childhood event that had also influenced his writing was, His mother's death, He was really young when his mother had unfortunately passed away. Which is why he wrote the poem, "To my Mother."
