I think a teacher’s expectation greatly influence the intelligence of students because intelligence is not gifted but is achieved in a process, if teachers focus more on certain students, they get nurtured to become more clever than those who get neglected.

Personally, I think the theory of multiple intelligences is relatively comprehensive. It is influential in the sense that it has great significance on altering teachers’ attitudes towards teaching. Rather than asking “how smart are students?”, it is more important to acknowledge that pupils have different kinds of talents, skills and knowledge (which are all intelligence) and the question should be “how are learners intelligent?”. In such case, teachers will be focusing on the acquired intelligence of the students and continue to nurture them to help them thrive for their very best.

I think the theory of multiple intelligences by Gardner best explain intelligence because it regards intelligence as a multifaceted concept and it acknowledges that there are different type of intelligence instead of just IQ. It helps me as teachers to identify different students' potential and development their strengths.
