Chapter 3 (Cioltea Paul)

• In the beginning of chapter 3 we see Nya finally arriving at the pond to get water, as she drinks some of the water herself we are told that, the water is muddy and there's many birds, cattle, and other animals also drink together with them. And after Nya finishes filling up her water container she takes a cloth rag, places it on her head then starts walking back home knowing that the road is gonna take longer than before.

• Back over to salva, We cut to him crying wondering what happened then he sees a person near what seems to be a house, as he gets closer he notices Dinka symbols on her face, then we go to the next morning when we meet the woman whom Salva calls auntie saying good morning to Salva as he slept in her barn for the night, she gives Salva some nuts and Salva goes to get some water from a nearby pond, this happens for a few more days before the woman tells Salva has to leave due to there being no more water and it being dangerous for both of them to stay together due to the war, as Salva panics about what to do, he hears a small group of Dinka people heading to the house and the chapter ends leaving us wondering what will happen next.

>> What impressed me the most is how nice the old woman was to Salva despite him being a complete stranger other than them being from the same clan.

>> What shocked me the most is the fact that people from Nya's village would all drink from the same Pond together with lots of animals and they would all also get knee deep in the drinking water.

Chapter 2 (Briciu Gabriela)

•This chapter shows the harshness of Nya's life and her determination. Water, symbolizing survival, is the goal. To get water—to survive—Nya must push past pain and solve her own problems. Though she is a child, she cannot rely on the adults in her life to provide for her. Rather, she must provide for them.

•Similarly, Salva finds he cannot rely on the adults around him. As the soldier points out, Salva is clearly a child. However, the adults fail to protect him, privileging their own survival over his well-being. That they abandon Salva shows how people who might be compassionate and caring in normal times can be selfish and even cruel when their own survival is on the line.

•I was most impressed by the fact that Nya at her age has to walk for water in order to survive, instead of going to school

•I was shocked by the fact that they, as children, are convinced that adults can't help them, and as they tell the story in which they explain how adults really don't help them

The Beginning of The End

In chapter 1 of the novel "The Long Walk to Water" by Linda Sue Park, the protagonist, Salva Dut, an 11 year old boy from South Sudan, is presented. His life is disrupted by the civil war that affects the country and causes people to take refuge and abandon their villages. Salva is forced to flee for his life and is separated from his family. He begins a difficult and dangerous journey in search of safety and water, while using his courage and determination to survive in a world full of dangers.
On the other hand, we meet Nya who is on her way with a water container to bring water to the family.

What impressed me the most is how the dedication Salva has for school.

What shocked me the most is that girls in Nya's village didn't go to school in order to get water.

Chapter 4 (Cionca David)

Chapter 4 of "The Long Road to Water" recounts the Salva's journey in search of water. During his journey, he encounters various obstacles and people who help or confuse him in his quest. Along the way, the character goes through moments of introspection and strengthens his determination to achieve his goal. The text explores themes such as perseverance, solidarity and the importance of human values in the face of adversity.
