This is a book i'm currently reading, it's such a GOOD BOOKKKK. It's a book about a trans boy who goes to a strict all boys school (obvious problem already) and no one knows he's, well trans. Then he's finds out he's roommates with the boy who broke his heart before he transitioned!!! Ughh so good I love the one sided enemies to lovers trope, and (the only) miscommunication trope I will fall for! Also a slow burn (be warned!) definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good Young Adult LGBTQIA+ romance! 8.5/10!

I really liked the complex thought of the book and I won’t spoil it but there are SO MANY PLOT TWISTS! I also really liked the way the author (Tahereh Mafi) portrayed the main characters trauma; because some authors have them cry once and be okay but in reality that just isn’t what happens. And I really like how the author explored different ways of dealing with trauma too; (reflecting Adam and Juliette.) Anyway over all I really liked this book! I definitely will read the series! Probably not more than that though.

Honestly this is the second book of the series. I did like the first one a bit better though. I really thought the way the bird appeared in her dreams after Adam and her broke up was an incredible work of symbolism. I was also thoroughly impressed with the authors discretion of the main characters feelings; Though I do find her a bit anoying and unrealistic. Thank you for reading my letter Tahereh! Hope you enjoyed it!

So, yes this is a duology. This series is one of hopefully the only that I will put together. I finished the first book after my time limit reached it's end (9:30) and finished 100 pages per hour. It was a three hundred page book. For my last one I also finished it in three hours. 7-10pm. Honestly the reason why I won't separate this series is because alike to Alosa these two parts of her personality can't be separated.

SPOILERS:

like at the end of the second book when she chose a pirates life instead of a blissful siren life. Because wind on top of water calls to her. But not under.

New Years Reading Resoulutions Post

So, I'm gonna say it. For me it's almost impossible to pick a favorite book. This year there were so many first's;

First lesbian royal romance.

First woman Jack Sparrow.

First fantasy that didn't have a good ending.

Out of everything though, i'd have to say Piranesi. I'd say it really imprinted on me. For example ask me who's the main character of And They Were Roommates? I could not tell you. But in Piranesi I can still remember the bee man stature.

I feel like i've always read romance; (which will be my goal for 2026) But Pranesi wasn't an inch of romance - and also a book I never would think I would read.

I hope in the 40 books I read this year that I'll find a plot as complex as Piranesi's.

Reading 40 books is really easy for me. Exspelly if there like Piranesi.
