1. Basic requirements identified

2. Prototype developed

3. prototype tested by end user

4. prototype is improved

repeat steps 3&4 until end user is satisfied. - iteration

A usable system produced in the early process - allows end user to evaluate it.

gives end user the opportunity to provide input - to the next stage of development.

Disadvantages

CONFUSION BETWEEN THE PROTOTYPE ADN THE FINISHED SYSTEM;

end users can think that a prototype intended to be thrown away it is actually the final system that needs to be finished.

users can also become attached to the features that were in the prototype but not in the finished system.

EXCESSIVE DEVELOPMENT TIME OF THE PROTOTYPE;

the main aim of prototypeing is that it is supposed to be done quickly, it is very tempting to develop a prototype that is too complex leading to the development time being extended, this will also lead to an increase in the cost of the resources needed.

Hello Molly I am typing this at 11:57am on Thursday 24th September 2015 and you look stressed because Mr Welsh has just finished lecturing you about your amazing art work and about using Ms Limerick's ideas so I just wanted to say I love your painting and I think you should do it however you want because he doesn't really know what he's talking about and you're a much better artist than he could ever be
