Most burmese people that I know are buddhist but others can be christian or others. In the month of April, it is Burmese New Year and in Burma when this time comes, it usually lasts for about  week or two I'm not sure which one it was but every day for that time, they would throw a water festival throughout different locations around Burma and people would sing and dance on stage and everyone would pour water on each other with water guns and hoses. There would be loud music and everyone has a good time.

I guess frugality and logic is associated with a lot more Eastern cultures, and a sense that working in self interest is shameful. Occasionally I'm sad that the rich indigenous culture was so ruined by the Japanese.
