Asylum Seekers Group in Grade 8 learns about situation of refugees worldwide and the conflicts that lead to flight.  We have a guest speaker every year to talk about their refugee experience.  Students meet and interact with asylum seeker children at Asylum Seeker home and at annual Christmas party.  Grade 8 Community Connections group from 2015-2017 worked on the UNs Global Goals for Development and learned about these goals in a global context.  We had guest speakers come in to speak on the goals.
