Life Is Like A Score

By Lee Si Won (Life Bar ep 111)

If life is a score
Each day is a note
Sometimes it's high
Sometimes it's low
We want to have high notes only
(We want to be happy always, we want to have nice things always)
And we've become obsessed with it
Music needs both high and low notes
To create harmonies
If there are only high notes
That's a noise
So...it is okay to be sad
It is okay to be angry
It is okay to be in pain
Because of those low notes
High notes shine more

But, the idealist me counter-argues that I won't be happy with what I will get when I am not happy with what I always have.

So....which side is right, which side is wrong?

Is it okay to pursue a pipe dream at the expense of a stable life?

I hope I can find a middle ground in this situation, where both the idealist and realist me can become a synergy instead of going to the extreme spectrum of each side. Because I believe having a stable life while at the same time doing things I am passionate about is what I truly define as...happiness.
