A lot of food after the British left changed. This is mainly seen in Central as there is a lot more British restaurants and a lot of places that sell afternoon tea. Some traditional foods have changed as well. For example, they introduced a lot more pastries like banana rolls and dumplings to the culture. Hong Kong also has a lot of new areas called pubs. These places basically sold drinks after a long day of work.

In the aspect of infrastructures, a lot more buildings have been built as before the British arrived, Hong Kong didn't have a lot of buildings. All of these buildings followed a specific pattern of pillars with large roofs. These buildings include apartments, homes, and even churches and shopping malls. Also, gadgets and the lifestyle in general has changed because back then, there wasn't a lot of structure. However nowadays, there are more modern designs with things like sinks, televisions, and toilets all introduced to Hong Kong

The median age over the years has also increased because of an aging population. The population in Hong Kong from 1997 and after slowly increased. In the years 2000 to 2005, the population of Hong Kong increased by 0.49 percent but it slowly went up over the years. It went to 0.57, 0.62, and then almost 1 percent in one year alone. Central in general had a population of almost 300 thousand in 2016. The median age over the years has also grown because overall, more people are growing older every year. The difference between it from 2005 to 2020 was about 4 years.
