Remake of Novels in Verse First Impressions by Mrs. Oelke

Please reflect on your first experience reading your novel in verse. In your initial post, consider the following questions:

Have you read poetry before? If so, do you like it? Why or why not? Have you read a novel in verse before? What was your first reading session like? What did you enjoy? What was challenging? What is your story about so far? Provide a brief summary of what you read in the first 20 minutes. What questions do you have so far about your story or the writing style? Predictions?

I've read some poetry before, I think it's really interesting and I liked it becuase I thought that it was more raw than books. I haven't ever read a novel in verse before. In my first reading session I got so into it I stopped 75% through the book. I enjoyed it, but also felt bad because it was very tough subjects. Dialogue was challenging because there was no quotation marks. The story so far is about a native american boy named Jeremy who mostly keeps to himself because he was abused by his parents and still is in a different way, he can see people who have died and is now helping a girl get closure for her boyfriend who commited suicide. I predict that he is going to see his dad, because they keep talking about where he is.

From what I´ve read so far, i like the way it tells some of the story in normal writing and then goes into poetry. The poetry seems, so far, to be Janeś thoughts about how she is feeling and whatś going on in her recovery and life.

Throughout my life, I have indeed read poetry before and I am neutral when it comes to it, but I do notice catchy patterns that could hook some readers. But I have never read an in-verse novel before. What I noticed during my first reading session was that it was really short and I noticed that the author sometimes wrote the text in an art-like form. And I enjoyed the real life feel of this story that really puts you in the story and I also enjoyed the unique form that sometimes this text is written in. So far, I have not found anything very challenging when I read this story. So far, my story is about a kid named Noah who wants to become cool alongside his best friend, named Walt. Noah and Walt both want to be cool, so they decide to meet up at Dairy Queen to talk to a person Walt knows, but those plans don't fall through when Sam, the girl who Noah has a crush on but is just friends with and already taken, comes up to Noah and asks him to come with her to go shopping at the mall, and Noah cannot say no, so he just goes with her instead of waiting for Walt at Dairy Queen. And at the mall, Sam hangs out with Noah that day shopping with him at the mall and asks him for his opinion on what outfit looks best for her for prom. Sam also says that Cruz was pressuring her and Sam hints that her relationship with her boyfriend, Cruz is not perfect and then talks to Noah about prom and what is Noah doing for prom. Some questions that I have for this story are what is going to happen with Sam and Cruz later? And, is Sam going to become Noah's girlfriend? And, what is going to happen once Walt realizes that Noah didn't show up at Dairy Queen? I predict that Noah might have Sam as a girlfriend later in the story because of what is happening right now. And I also predict that Noah's friend, Walt, will be mad at him for not meeting him at Dairy Queen to talk with that person that Walt knew.
