I feel like this is true for the quote/school settings.  The more students engage with a topic, the more they will know about it.  They can build on their existing knowledge to learn more about that subject, as well as more of what to do with what they've learned.

For a while many of the students did not enjoy this, but as the year went on and they got used to it, they began to enjoy it.
