The sentence that it was used in was ¨He had a wispy goatee and a sour face.¨ I think that wispy means hair that is fine and feathery. When I started to read this book, the first few chapters are very vague and don´t give out information. Instead the reader has to infer what is going on. In the text it said her knees buckled and everything went pitch black. I can predict that Piper got hit by someone when she was not expecting it and that is why everything went black. Then the flames flickered to life, curls of red-hot fire dancing across his palm.¨ This sentence in my book has very descriptive and strong words like flickered, tingle and extended. This sentence also have personification in it. Flames don´t come to life and they cant dance either. Both strong, descriptive and personification paints a picture in the readers mind of whats going on. I had no clue what the message or what it meant. I had to read it a couple of times to understand it. The author put lots description and action words in the poem which painted a picture in my mind. The poem got me for surprise when it said her father died in the tornado. Nobody now really pours drops of medicine in their mouth to heal wounds but back then, they did.
