A strong word that I found in my book was wispy. The sentence that it was used in was ¨He had a wispy goatee and a sour face.¨ I think that wispy means hair that is fine and feathery. This word really paints a picture in your head and helps you visualize the scene. This word did not relate to showing emotion, it was rather description.

This feeling happens to me very rarely. When I started to read this book, the first few chapters are very vague and don´t give out information. Instead the reader has to infer what is going on. I question if this is the writing style the author uses throughout the book or if it just happened in the beginning.

I can infer Jason is afraid of heights. He was on the bus to go see the Grand Canyons. He was all the way at the top and he looked down. All of a sudden he grabbed the rails and opened his eyes widely. He had an urgency to vomit and throw up. He stared to shake and shiver. This gives me a hint if Jason is afraid of heights or not.

I wonder if this book takes place in different time periods because I have seen some movies like that. Some evidence is that Jason, Leo, Piper and other people have a navigation device to guide them at the Grand Canyons. But at the same time, they are riding and moving in a chariot which kind of surprises me. They have things from the future, present and very past!

Piper is all alone and is hearing voices saying to free her. In the text it said her knees buckled and everything went pitch black. I can predict that Piper got hit by someone when she was not expecting it and that is why everything went black. He passed and blacked out when she got hit.

¨He extended his fingers and felt them tingle, like they were waking up---pins and needles. Then the flames flickered to life, curls of red-hot fire dancing across his palm.¨ This sentence in my book has very descriptive and strong words like flickered, tingle and extended. This sentence also have personification in it. Flames don´t come to life and they cant dance either. Both strong, descriptive and personification paints a picture in the readers mind of whats going on. It certainly happened to me!

This poem at first when I read it was very confusing. I had no clue what the message or what it meant. I had to read it a couple of times to understand it. The author put lots description and action words in the poem which painted a picture in my mind. The poem got me for surprise when it said her father died in the tornado. The author never mentioned anything about her family member but at the end, she did.

When I visualized Anabeth pouring the medicine into Piper mouth because she got wounded, it reminded me of the ancient times and Harry Potter. Nobody now really pours drops of medicine in their mouth to heal wounds but back then, they did. Also, I still remember the scene where Harry or somebody got her and Ron and Hermonie used the same kind of medicine to cure him.

The redheaded girl is very anonymous and the author does not tell her name. She also said that she killed Piper which really surprises me. It surprises me because she is admitting it. Nobody including me would admit doing something that bad!

I am at the end of a chapter and at a cliffhanger. It says in the text that the department store exploded behind Leo, Jason and Piper. I am having a rush of thoughts, did they survive, who blew up the store. I am hoping some of these questions get answered as I read on!
