For example, some of the world's most powerful pesticides were only developed after WWII. Other areas such as nuclear power, biotech and even aerospace technology also contribute to the degradation of the environment. In addition, it is argued that areas that once affected localized populations, now affect larger parts of the world, such as the use of DDT, used globally. Lastly, the authors argue that the severeness and rate of these impacts may be increasing.

The effect on environmental situation is caused by the number of methods, such as the construction of nuclear factors, the use of jet aircraft or biotechnologies. As stated by Goudie and Viles, One more issue is the spread of localized problems to global (1997). And the last factor, influencing the environmental development is technical and general progress, that impact the complexity, scales and frequency of techniques, used to solve worldwide problems.

There are several trends of how modern people have a great impact on the environment. According to Godie and Viles (1997),There are many negative effects associated with the access of "nuclear reactors and jet aircraft", for instance. These problems are also caused by the use of DDT, Lead and sulphates which affect a few local districts. Lastly,
