Even though I had conflicts throughout my rule like the great fire of London in 1666 and a resurgence of the black plague, I sought to heal wounds left by the civil war by passing the declaration of indulgence .

James II 1685-1688

I was the brother of the former King Charles II, I was given the throne because Charles II had 12 illegitimate children. I was the last Roman Catholic king of England due to the country being mainly protestant. I was subject to lots of hardships and backlash from the people due to my religious standing, which eventually led to me being peacefully overthrown. While my time as king was short, I laid the foundation for the English bill of rights yet to come.

William I 1688-1702

My name is King William, I ruled with my wife from 1688 to 1702. After the overthrow of the former King James II, we were chosen by the Parliament to assume the throne. Our rules marks the beginning of a new era in England known as the constitutional monarchy, this is because during our reign the English bill of rights was passed.
