I also appreciated the different formats for the lectures. I tended to gravitate toward the YouTube videos because I could speed up the video and get it done faster. I also listened in my car while driving to work. My favorite topics were stocks and mutual fund, because I learned and finally feel like I understand them. It allowed me to start investing in my retirement plan at work and actually understand what I was doing. Thank you for everything Prof. Paiano.  It was a great pleasure to be in your class! And as far as I am concerned, this has been the best class I've taken at Southwestern College!

The first times were a bit overwhelming not knowing where anything is but after a while it felt like going to wikipedia/youtube/facebook and knowing how to get the information I needed. Maybe like the last optional work where we tracked a few stocks over time but that from the beginning of the class and slowly we understand what all that means, I don't know its just an idea that seemed interesting. What I mean is that of course we went through the curriculum but at the same time the teacher shares his thoughts about the topic being discussed. It kind of felt like someone on the inside was being honest with the rest of us. Watching and listening the lecture videos was never boring. I also liked all the different options available to study and communicate and turning in assignments. Oh, and I liked the feedback given as well.

I think I will remember that long-term investments and diversification is the way to go. Mutual funds sound good. Also that there is risk with everything and shouldn’t panic if the market falls. I saved many lectures in a YouTube playlist if I ever need to remember something.
