The ChoiceWorks app sounds really great! I'm wondering about the grade recommendation from Common Sense and Understood. They say it's for Kindergarten. Can you explain a little more why it's a good match for CA? It sounds like you know his really well, and therefore chose it for a reason.

I picked this app because C.A is reading at a 1st grade level and understand better when images are involved. He also enjoy animation over reading and writing and i felt in order for him to actually want to use the app instead of being discouraged by the words that i provide him with something that involved not only words but images especially when it comes to his emotion impulses.

Katelyn, I enjoyed learning about the ChoiceWorks app! The embedded timer seems like a great way for CA to learn wait time, as well as being able to manage his time for activities within the classroom. I think a way in which this can support him in one day not using the app is by connecting it to checklists that you may already have within lessons! Tying in the content you're teaching to the skills the app is helping CA will aid him in developing his executive functioning skills!

Kayla, Thank you i have actually started using this with my student slowly at school introducing him to different aspect of the app and getting him comfortable with it. Recently high school applications were due and he had already lost 3 copies of the application. So i implemented the executive functioning skill and he returned the application next day. Slowly i am noticing a shift in his performance it's just going to take consistency with him.
Inside the classroom we do use check list and look fors so he's used to that now it's about consistency not only with me but between every class and even at home.

Katelyn,
I'm so glad to hear that you have started using the app with him and that it helped him return his high school application. That's awesome!! I agree, creating consistency so it becomes a routine for not only us but for the students is vital in the success of implementing anything.

Kayla,
I would have never thought of using apps for executive functioning and even learning about executive functioning issues in general. I'm happy that he is benefiting from the introduction of this app. He still needs to utilize the app especially for his emotional support.
