My hometown is Três Corações, a city located in south of Minas Gerais, Brazil, as known as The City of King Pelé. The city is an important historical, cultural and economic place in the region.

ORIGIN:

It was founded in 1884 and its name means "Three Hearts" because of the Rio Verde's bends (Green River) that look like three hearts when seen from above. There was another versions about the name, one say that the city receive this name in honor of the devotion of the three sacred hearts of Jesus, Maria and José, and the other tell the history of three young ladies called Jacira, Jussara and Moema, who were abandoned by their lovers. All these versions are retracted in the City Anthem and represent the city's poetic tradition.

"The King of Football": Pelé

Três Corações, Pelé's hometown, changed the streets names to include its tribute to him.

The Praça Odilon Rezende is the heart of Três Corações, working as an commercial center of the city. Around it, are numerous clothing stores, bars, ice cream shop, eletronics stores, offices, toy stores, hotels and many restaurants and snack bar. Futhermore, there are streets vendors in the square, selling their craftworks and jewelry independently.

Is located in Vila Gesse, Três Corações, MG, 37410-167, across from Calçadão 18, acting as an extension of it. It's one of the oldest places in Três Corações, along with the Bueno Brandão school, right across the street, and the School of Sergeants of Arms (ESA), on the street behind. Previously, the steam train passed nearby to reach the station. Today, the train tracks can still be seen on the paved streets.

The square is wide and very important to the city, as it hosts a variety of activities, including events of the ESA, animal adoption fairs, inflatable playgrounds for children on weekends, performances by the Municipal Marching Band and the Independence Day parade (September 7th).

It's a busy tourist point, both during the week and on weekend, as it is a service center, but the hustle and bustle gives it a big-city charm. On the other hand, if you're not a fan of crowded places and want to visit the square, you can go in the evening, around 8 p.m., when the center is quieter and the lights are elegant. Don't forget to bring a jacket with you, as it can get windy at night.

Enjoy your night walks!

Pelé's House is a special place that remind us that before become the greatest football legend, Pelé, was Edson Arantes do Nascimento, just a boy growing up in the countryside of Minas Gerais with his family.

Actually, his house is a museum in the center of the city that received the number 1000 in honor of the Pelé's goals along his career. The street where it's located received his name, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, a calm place that you can get there by taxi, car, bus, bike or whatever you want. It's located in R. Edson Arantes do Nascimento, 1000, in the center of Três Corações - MG 37410-019.

The entrance is free and there was many details of the life of the legend knowed in all the world, just like his bedroom, his family's items, furniture, kitchen objetcs, old colored cups and so much feeling that you can only understand by visiting in person. Knowing Pelé's life story makes us understand that even if we have a simple childhood in the countryside, full of difficulties, we can still be great and worthy of recognition, just as Pelé left his mark on the whole world and will never be forgotten.

Like the others tourist point in Três Corações, Pelé's House is very important to the culture, history and tourism of the city, but the detail that led me choose this destination was the inspiration that Pelé's legacy awakened in the new generation. Both boys and girls from the city visit Pelé's House at some point in their lives, whether with their family or the school. It's an unforgattable trip, especially because of the memory on which the city was built. My brother, Henrique Miguel, at just 8 years old, is a huge fan of Pelé and his work. He started to play soccer to be as good like him in this sport and he's always watching videos about his career, life, wins and legacy. In the photo above, his holding the first trophy that Brazil brings, Brazil World Cup.

Answering the questions about tourist travel

What is your hometown like?

My hometown and my family's hometown, Três Corações, used to look worst. The city still have some abandoned places that could be amazing if the prefecture invested in infrastructure, city's culture and tourist points, like the Iron Bridge, the Train Station, the Atlético stadium, the Municipal Market etc. Actually, the prefect is investing in Pelé's cultural memory to grow, but it needs to transform the city's infrastructure that already exists and promote the funny tourism in the city, no just speak of coffee and coffee, then they'll make money and gain fame.

My city has potential, but the prefecture doen't invest much in its cultural heritage, so much so that it wnats to sell and privatize some of its oldest historical sites.

2. What is the most beautiful city you have ever visited? And in Minas Gerais? Why? What makes it so beautiful?

Well, I haven't been to many cities in my life until then, but one of the most beautiful and unforgattable is São Tomé das Letras. OK, that town looks like it was built to create masochistic climbers, but the scenery is wonderful, and there is no discussion about that.

I've never been to another state but Minas Gerais, so São Tomé das Letras still being the best "city". Its natural landscapes are breathtaking, each one more mystical than the last. When you climb the stones and seen the city from above, it feels like you're all alone and in piece. When you explore the cavers, it seems like you're in another world, even if you don't use mushrooms.

3. What is your favorite place in Minas Gerais? And in Brazil?

Actually, my favorite place in Minas Gerais, is Santana do Riacho, a small town a 100 km of Belo Horizonte where its located the National Park of Serra do Cipó, with its beautiful waterfall, trees, lakes and natural lanscapes. In Brazil, it's Cataratas do Iguaçu, near the border, 'cause its also wondrous.

What city would you like to visit most? Why is that?

The city that I want to visit most most most most is San Pedro de Atacama, in northeastern Chile. Why?! Its just a city in the desert with a gorgeous viewing of Via Lactea, its constellations and a piece of the world that we don't know almost nothing. It's such a dream, man.

Do you know any information about this? Like population, foods, costume etc.? What is one curiosity about it?

Of course! San Pedro de Atacama is a place in Cordilheira dos Andes located nearby El Valle de la Luna, a famous valley in Los Flamencos Natural Reserve, similar to the lunar surface, with a big sand dune and mountains with orange and pink lines. Places around these, in Chile, are really magnific and magic, the nature is singular and strange in a beautiful way, its inspiring.

It was founded in 1450 and the population is around 5.347 inhabitants. I don't know too much about the food, but it haves andina potatoes, pastel de choclo, charquicán and grilled lhama.

About the traditional customs, the city has a strong influence of culture Licanantay, viewing in the art, culinary and religious traditions, blending catholicism with ancestral rituals. A curiosity about it: there are specific rules, like the ban on drink alcohol in public and have parties with loud music after 11 p.m., because there are respect for the tourism and tours that begin early in the morning.

In this city is there any specific place to visit? Why?

Great question. I want to visit this city because of the Atacama Desert and its magical sky of Lactea View at night. One of my dreams in life is camping in this desert with a telescopic to explore the stars, the planets and dream about the past, the present and the future while observing a little bit of the cosmos.
