Francais Débutant I was the course I was in charge of.

I was a quite large class for a language course which is about 28 or 30 students.

Overall, it was a very participative class with a good environment. As for the level of French, it was quite good for beginners, who seem fluent and motivated.

How was my experience as an assistant teacher?

During this course, I played an important role each time, as at the beginning I just started the class with small activities related to previous topics. However, in the last sessions I had an important role, because I was in charge of the whole class.

I was in 8 sessions, at the beginning I was very nervous because I had never been in charge of a French course and I was not sure how to manage the class, but little by little I started to feel comfortable with the class.

On the other hand, I will not forget the class where the professor left me in charge of the class on my own, as he had to be in training for election day. That day I was in chaos, however, despite being sick and toneless, the class was successful.

Reflecting about my rol as teacher: What should I improve?

Mainly, I consider that my biggest challenge is time management, because at the moment of organizing the activities I give them a specific time, but at the moment of carrying them out, they usually take longer than expected.
Also, I need to be a little clearer when giving instructions.

Why I want to be a teacher?

I want to grow as a teacher, I believe that with practice I will be able to modify my methodologies and strategies to improve the way I teach to fit each student.

In my class, I prefer my students to have a more participatory role in each of the activities and dynamics. Also, I consider that gamification as a methodology is perfectly suited to students and modernity for better language learning.

Of all the students two stood out more than the others, they are:

-Santiago was such a good student, sociable and leader, and besides, motivated to learn as much as possible, I noticed that he has a good level of French and participated a lot during the class sessions.

-Esteban He was quiet but motivated to learn and participated.

On the other hand, I had students who were not good at French and seemed unmotivated.

-Valentina was unmotivated, did not attend class regularly, and when she was in class, she was not paying attention or was constantly leaving the class.
