My footprint compared to the two hypothetical others, mine is big. But to the world my footprint is average. The reason that my footprint is big compared to the two others is because the first one is a vegetarian and does not spend a lot on beauty products. Also they keep their house slightly warm in the summer and cool in the winter.
The second family however only uses 35% of their carbon emission because the are vegetarian and leave their house cold in the winter and warm in the summer they only use a wood stove. Also never wastes anything and does not eat out and uses public transportation. They are different than me because I eat out every Friday and that is it but i also eat meat at some meals and I keep my house warm in the winter and cold in the summer.

1.) One way to make your footprint smaller is to get solar panels. They go on your roof and they reduce almost all of the electricity that comes to your house. 2.)Also you should turn off your lights and appliences when you leave or are not using them because when they are on they take up so much of your carbon footprint.

3.) Another way to make your footprint is to reduce the amount of trash you throw out that goes into landfills. The way this helps is that
4.)Also eat less meat because meat factories put a lot of carbon into the air for example lamb consumed puts 39.2 kilograms of carbon into the atmosphere.

5.) A third way to reduce your carbon footprint is to reduce the amount of air travels you take because air travel uses a lot of carbon. 6.)What you should do instead is take longer trips or you should go places closer to you so that you can drive there. Or if you are only going there to just to see people you can always use skype or facetime.

My first way to reduce is to get solar panels this is so important because when you get solar panels you can almost eliminate the electricity and it will reduce the amount of gas that comes into the atmosphere. I found this information at cotap.org and the location address is https://cotap.org/reduce-carbon-footprint/#home At this website it talks about what to do to reduce your footprint and it explains how getting solar panels can help reduce. Another good thing about this is that you could eliminate your whole electricity bill. That could be great for saving money.

My second way is to turn off you lights and appliances and this is so important because when you turn off your lights you also turn off the electricity that is coming to your home. And if you do that then all of the carbon that goes up into the atmosphere will be gone for as long as you keep it off. I found this information at the same place as the first way and that is at cotap.org and the location address is https://cotap.org/reduce-carbon-footprint/#home At this website it explains what light bulbs to use and when to turn off your lights off. The reason that I chose this website is because I agree with what it is saying. For example I agree with the way to reduce and help the enviroment is to turn off your lights.

The third way that I said to reduce is the amount of waste that you put in landfills. This is so important because when the waste stays in the ground for too long then the carbon gets into the soil. I found this information at recycling-guide.org and the location address is at http://www.recycling-guide.org.uk/importance.html At this website is explains why we should reduce the waste. It also explains that this will reduce polution also and another thing that will be reduced is the greenhouse gasses

The fourth way that I said to reduce is to eat less meat the reason that this is so important is because meat industries produce way too much carbon and that is really bad for the environment.

The fifth way that I said to reduce is to reduce air travel. This is so important because airplanes release carbon when they go up in the air. When this happens they leave a white streak in the sky that is just greenhouse gases. I found this information is at davidsuzuki.org and the location address is https://davidsuzuki.org/what-you-can-do/air-travel-climate-change/ At this website it explains how the airplanes leave carbon in the sky when they fly. For example the white streaks that are left in the sky are greenhouse gases.

The sixth way that I said to reduce your carbon footprint is to take longer trips to a vacation or just decide to go somewhere that you can drive to. This is so important because just like the fifth way airplanes leave greenhouse gases and if you don't go on an airplane then that will be one less person that will be taken on an airplane. Also if everyone goes on one less airplane rides then they should they that would be a lot of plane rides that would be eliminated. The place that I found this information is at cotap.org and the location address is https://cotap.org/reduce-carbon-footprint/#air At this website it explains how and why you should't travel by plane.
