We discussed using Found Poetry to generate original poems related to a novel. We can use poetry to teach diction and detail. We liked how Jago presented reading a visual text--that is something we do in AP Lang. Questions: Can we get Carol Jago's book recommendations sent out to us (from the Keynote and Poetry unit)? Do we need approval to teach these novels in literature circles (in lieu of current novels)?

We tried to figure out a way to incorporate the three word sentence poetry assignment into a text based assignment where each group gets a theme or character and creates the poem from that angle.
We had conversations for future use in the curriculum including ways to analyze art work and poetry.  These enrichment activities  will make it more energizing for our students. 
We talked about improving students presentation skills (listening and speaking), peer revision and grit, vocabulary and empathy.
