How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because it shows that even after several attempts of trying to be adequate at volleyball, it is something that Shreya was not be able to accomplish. in the book the cay timothy and 
phillip start working together to make a shelter and  get food and when the storm came they survived because they were working together in the end they finale got out well phillip did but he only survived because he worked with timothy to survive and know the island while he was blind.  He got the figure of the island because timothy put string around the island so phillip can get the shape of the island and that is what got him through their time together and till he got saved.
