In the poem Dust of Snow by Robert Frost, assonance can be found in the stanzas. For example Frost writes, "Has given my heart/A change of mood/And saved some part/Of a day I had rued" (5-8). It is clear to see in his writing because the similar sounds such as heart and part jump out at the reader. Robert Frost utilizes assonance in his writing because it develops the internal rhyme that enhances the pleasure of reading. It creates a mood as well as a flow that allows the readers to connect with the subject matter.

Imagery can be shown in the very first half of the poem Dust of Snow by Robert Frost. He writes, "The way a crow/Shook down on me/The dust of snow/From a hemlock tree" (1-4). It clearly paints a picture for the reader, and they are able to visualize a crow in a snowy forest shaking snow from above. Frost utilizes imagery because it creates pictures in the mind of the reader which evoke certain feelings which the writer desires the reader to feel.

Personification

In the poem Dust of Snow by Robert Frost, personification can be clearly seen. He personifies the snow by stating, "The dust of snow/From a hemlock tree/Has given my heart/A change of mood/And saved some part" (3-7). Robert Frost uses this craft move in order to show emotions, and continue the story through something that is inanimate. Personification connects readers with the object that is personified. It can aid the readers understanding, ability to sympathize, as well as their ability to react emotionally to non-human characters.
