We have been given the sports hall at the local leisure centre for half an hour, we also have been given all of the equipment that we need. We chose our teams and began to brainstorm some different ideas of activities that we could do.
We had to take into consideration the amount of time in the session we had, the facilities we will need and if we could get them or not, the amount of people we need and health and safety.

The rules of Bench Ball are simple. The group will be split into two even teams. Once the teams are sorted the groups will discuss who wants to go onto the benches and become the 'goalie'. The aim of the game is to end up with all of your team members on your bench, to get all of your team mates on you will have to pass the ball up and down the court to and from teammates, once you have got to your bench you need to  throw the ball to your goalie, if they catch the ball the person that threw it goes up onto the bench. If you have the ball in your hands you cannot move with the ball, only pivot. The other team will need to try and obstruct the ball whilst passes are being made. If a player that has joined the bench falls off they will have to stay off until the goalie catches their ball again. Firstly, if we have more than 20 people that want to take part we will split them into three/four teams and the winning team will stay on. We will make sure that all of the teams will play each other. The benches are needed for the person standing on the bench and the other people that will eventually end up on the bench when they score. We will also need some bibs so everyone will know who's on who's team so that they don't get confused. Whilst we rehearsed it we found some parts of the activity that needed changing such as they cannot pass the ball to the person on the bench closer than one meter. Also we decided that they can only have 3 seconds with the ball and 5 seconds when there's only 2 of them left. We made sure that the were loud and clear, we kept our instructions and rules short so that everyone could understand. We made sure we answered any questions that they had. Once the participants arrived we realised that some of them were not capable of standing on a bench so we decided to remove it and change the rules a bit, we told them to stand on a specific line and if they come of that line then they would have to join the game again. Before we started the game we gave them a practice run through so that they knew how the game worked. We observed the game and made sure that they were following the rules to reduce the injury but still having fun. We noticed that our pitch was too small so we made it bigger so that they had more room to move around. I planned it well and explained the rules clearly and loud enough. I split the teams fairly so there was an equal amount of people on each team. I stayed around the pitch throughout the game and encourage them and cheered them on. Once the game had began I realised that the pitch was too small so I made sure that I made it big enough so that the risk of injury was reduced. We found it hard at first to get their attention to explain the rules but we raised our voices and sounded more enthusiastic so the participants began to listen and get excited about playing. We made it clear that this game was non-contact so there wasn't any injuries. Both me and Sophie encourage everyone throughout the game and they were all cheering each other on and enjoying the game. The children's behaviour throughout the game was good, they were very excited which made the game better as they all enjoyed it a lot more and got more into the game.

We made sure we kept control throughout the game by making sure that they were sticking to the rules, if they broke a rule we'd pause the game and give the ball to the other team, we made sure we that we told them why we did it so they understand the rules.
