"The Last Man"
Mary Shelley lost her husband and close friend' Lord Byron and after that she published the novel " The Last Man" in 1826.
Firstly, the action takes place in the range of mountains near Rome; this is a typical Romantic idea in the 19 century.
Secondly, Lionel is Mary Shelley herself wants to spend the life as a lonely man, wandering the earth.
Darya Kolodyazhnaya
The main idea of Jane Austen's novels is, of course, love. In details, her novels are centered on province and old British traditions. She didn't describe landscapes and people's appearance or a decoration of houses, she focused on peoples characters' souls and feelings. Also, she had a lot of dialogues, that express true emotions. So, she followed the Romanticism idea, which concerns people's feelings, soul and character.

"Emma"
Marriage and social status are two of Emma's main ideas. Most of the drama in Austen’s novel revolves around who loves whom and what that means, given their social station. Through Emma, Austen subtly satirizes her society’s obsession with social distinctions. At the beginning of the novel, Austen's character is confident that she knows who the "chosen and best “are in Highbury and who makes up the "second set". Following her social code, Emma dissuades Harriet from continuing her relationship with Robert.

"The Black Dwarf"
The main character of the story was taken from a real person, David Ritchie. He was irritable, suspicious, and also very sensitive to ridicule and even other people's views, he hated children and strangers. Romantic idea of the novel is to show the inner world of a strange person, who was extremely fond of nature, and could spend hours admiring the wonderful landscapes. The person may be not beautiful at the first sight, but his way of life and feeling the world is more important than other things. This dwarf inspired Scott to write the work.

"Sense and Sensibility" by Jane Austen
`Sense and Sensibility` is the story about two sisters, prudent and discreet Elinor and open and enthusiastic Marianne Dashwood.
After their father`s death the Dashwood family moved to Barton Cottage in Devonshire, a beautiful place far away from big cities and it`s the first Romantic idea of this period.
Jane Austen wrote about pure love that is stronger than wealth or status and this novel is not an exception cause two sisters are from the middle class while Colonel Brandon or Mr Ferras, their future husbands, are rich.

Finally, the opposition of sense and sensibility decreases by the end of the story. In the final we see that prudent and discreet Elinor wanted love just like her open-hearted sister and they both were happy being married.

One of the main themes of the novel "Frankenstein" is the idea of the superiority of reason, the power of scientific thought that challenges nature. And the work of Mary Shelley can be called an educational novel, despite the fact that the novel was written in 1818, during the decline of Enlightenment philosophy and the heyday of romanticism.
