I had a lot of mixed feelings heading back to earth. As I looked out the window on the Vostok 6 I took one last look at space and everything it held. I was existed to get back home but also sad to leave the wonders of space. When I started my decent down to earth I noticed something with the navigation software. I was heading away from earth! I needed to do something and quick so I wasn't lost in space forever. I messaged the scientists on the ground informing them about the mishap. Thankfully they were able to fix it and I landed safely with only a burse on my face.

I don't know what I was expecting to see when I left earths atmosphere and entered orbit but words can not describe what I saw. It was more beautiful than I could have imaged and more missive than any picture could portray. It was space. And there was this silence to it, a peaceful silence as if nothing could ever disturb it. I was only up there for 70 hours but it felt like a life time. I circled the earth 48 times I could see the swirling white clouds the blue's of the oceans and all the continents. It was a glorious sight to behold. But all good things must come to an end and eventually I had to go back to earth.

I, along with 4 other women, received 18 months of training to see how we would do in space. This training included how I would handle long periods of time alone with no one around me, extreme gravity conditions, and 0-gravity conditions. Out of the 5 of us who were trained I was the only one chosen to go to space. Now I'm strapped into the Vostok 6 awaiting me exciting journey to space. As I looked out the window positioned above me I thought about everyone I was leaving down on earth and wondered if I would ever see them again. But I rehashed myself that all the percussions were taken so that I would have a safe trip as I was launched upward into the unknown.
