Christian beliefs about equality

Equality is the state of being equal or being treated equally as well as treating others equally. People belive that everyone should be treated equally. Other people argue that since everyone is different, it is important and unnatural to give everyone complete equality. The bible quote for this is "A new command I give you: Love one another. As i have loved you, so you must love one another." (John 13:34) The Bible teaches that everyone is of equal value, and being different does not ever mean being better or worse than other people. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:28). In the bible it says"so God created human being, making them be like himself. He created them male and female". This shows that every one is made in the image of God.
Christians believe it is important for people to love one another and treat each other well. The Bible treats the importance of love, and it is emphasized through the example of how Jesus treated others, as well as his teachings. For example, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another . Christians believe that all humans were made in God's image. They believe thatGod gave humans a special status in life, and that every human is sacred and should be treated accordingly.

What is Racism?
Racism is when someone is treated differently or unfairly just because of their race or culture.
What do Christians believe about racism?
Christians generally believe that racism is wrong, because it goes against Christian principles of equality and love. Racism does not fit in whith the Christian principle of love, because it involves treating people badly and not showing them love and respect. Racism is a form of inequality, so all of the Christian beliefs in the previous sections about equality can be applied to racism.

Case Studies

Stephan lawrence was a black britsh who was murdered beacuse of the colour of his skin.

Anthony walker was a black british who was murderd by a ice axe

Bible Quotes:

"The is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

"From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live."

Stephen Lawrence video:

This does not mean he can bully her, or expect her to do all the work - he must respect her, and treat her with love just as Christ loves the church. She should do as he says, and see him as authority.

Other Christians believe that these views are too old-fashioned for the modern world.

The Bible was written long ago when society was very different. Men and women should have equal opportunities at home and at work; a couple should share care for the children and housework, and they should both be able to go out to work if they want. If there is a disagreement, it does not always have to be the man who has the final say. Many women no longer promise to obey their husbands as part of their marriage vows.
